The best ones are probably The Thing, TCM (original but I also liked the remake and the prequel), Halloween, The Evil Dead trilogy and Nightmare on Elm Street.
I thought My Little Eye was scary in a way. Try to find a copy of the TV version of The Woman in Black - it's very creepy and frightening, one part in particular will have you screaming!!
I also like Last House on the Left, but it's not so much a horror.
Wolf Creek(Horror/Thriller if you want), and Last House on the Left(both versions) fall under the Horror genre. Horror isn't just supernatural elements.

Why did you turn it off? Too scary? It's a Hong Kong film - very very creepy! I reckon it's the best of those far eastern horrors. Eye 2 is good as well. Eye Infinity is not so good though.
