I apologise for being uneducated but what does "GM" stand for?

Gold Master it is essentially the final copy before public release so that developers can make any last minute tweaks.

Ah, I see. That makes sense! Is there anything you miss from iOS 6?

How big do you think the iOS 7 file is? And how long so you estimate it to take to download and install properly?

File size will be around 1.3 Gb
download time will depend on your internet speed and installation will take about 15 mins

It works fine and has been stable through the betas/GM for the ipad 2 and up also.

Remember to go to the iBookstore once you have upgraded to get the iOS 7 manual for your device, they are all there now, but will only be visible once you have upgraded.
    Also, be available as a pdf from the apple site later tonight at;

I have a 4s and the ipad 2 and I'm really conflicted tbh. At the moment I'm thinking I'll probably keep iOS6 on the ipad for now...

Have either of you used it on the iPad 4 curious to see if it is as fluid on there as well.

I have it installed on the iPad 3 and it seems fine on there, so would have thought it should be OK on the 4.

One thing with iOS7 though - a big part of how it looks is down to your wallpaper, because of the transparency. My wife didn't really like it because the folder icon backgrounds were brown, rather than black. But that was down to the wallpaper (we had the autumn leaves one). The Mavericks wallpaper with the blue / turquoise of the waves works pretty well with blue folder icons though.

I don't know whether to put it on my iPad 2 as I have heard it could make it slow or buggy. Any advice please?.

    ...I'm in the same boat!!

Heard people say that it makes the iPad 2 run quite slowly and apparently, iOS7 feels more like its in Beta than a Gold Master release..!!

If you set this up as a new phone, can you restore the contacts etc from the back up?

If they're on iCloud, you should be able to - this is what i'm hoping to do. I want to refresh the whole thing as-new and start from scratch.

    I'm hoping i don't lose my progress on Temple Run 2 .. again :)

Yes it is good, that was me that put up that link also.

For those asking, it runs stable on the iPad2 and above, been running it on a number of iPad 2/4 with the GM and through the dev betas that the iPads had.
There were some problems with iPads on some of the beta builds, namely around stock app crashing, but that is often the case with dev betas and all fine now.
