Trap Door was a shining example of how to actually do a licensed game that doesn't suck. How come people forgot how to do that???

spent many a day on chuckie egg. The big bird was scary!

Funnily enough I bought a chuckie egg t-shirt about a week ago.

Having to wait 5 or 10 minutes to get a game to load taught kids patience - something they don't seem to have these days.

That was cool, but... it was a bit weird that it was Batman. It wasn't really very Batmanny, was it?

Absolutely. Especially when it seemed you only had to cough near the tape recorder and the thing crashed and you had to start again.

I was bloody ace at Chuckie Egg! Used to drop the kids off at school and play all day till it was time to pick them up.

Never could get past level 24 though.

Games are on World of Spectrum.

Just click the black 48/128 icon if you want to play online with JAVA, or the cassette link to download to desktop.

I would try SpecEmu (from top left) for an emulator.

Still got a few BBC Bs and a number of add-ons.

I use one to control a couple of stepper motors.

awesome link, thank you. I fear for my productivity!

But no Repton 2? That was the complicated one with lots of interconnected levels that needed 100% completion and jigsaw puzzle pieces to spell out a message. Never completed it :(

Edit: Well I suppose I could buy the Windows version
    http://www.superiorinteractive.com/repton/2.htm
but $20 is a bit steep for a 20 year old game.

OMG Galaforce was my favourite game ever. then Chuckie Egg, then Repton 2. Superior software were just the mutts nuts!

Did anyone ever play the adventure text only game imaginatively titled "Adventure"? i got that on an emulator a while back and still got stuck where i used to when i was about 12. i searched all over for a walkthrough and couldnt find one and ended up getting "You are a charlatan - game over" when i typed "**** off" out of frustration. just like when i was 12.
