The long running show, which he started at Piccadilly Radio in the 70s and took to BBC Radio 1, has been dropped from Smooth after almost 10 years. It will now be part of the Gold schedule each Saturday night from November.
Andy Peebles said: “I am thrilled to bits to take The Soul Train to Gold and delighted that Richard Park is giving the show such a fantastic platform. I hope that people will make a date with me on Saturday nights and join me for the greatest soul music.”
Global’s Director of Broadcasting Richard Park: “Andy Peebles is one of the UK’s true broadcasting legends. I look forward to welcoming his new home at Gold where The Soul Train will be one of the highlights of the weekend schedule.”

I reckon they'll ditch the VT'd part 2 of 70's Saturday and have Andy on live from 8pm to midnight.
seems to be part of a wider schedule change for weekends at Gold which will happen in November.
Replacing Paul Coyte Saturday show means and end to the 70's block which was 7 hours, which was mirrored with a 7 hours block of 60s on Sunday nights. Would suggest a wider schedule change is going to happen.
It's an interesting move as Gold got rid of all the 'specialist' shows like Soul and Rock a few years back.
Smooth's Double Top 20 show would be perfect to move over to Gold - Jensen used to do a similar show (From the bottom to the top) on Gold a few years back.
From The Bottom To The Top was far superior. For those that don't know David would have a guest in the studio that would have had a big chart hit in the Top 40 and they'd count down the chart from that particular week playing the songs and chatting about them and the star's memories from the time.
That was on Capital Gold before they merged with Classic Gold
Couldn't remember if it was continued on Gold for a short while? Mike Sweeney did the show as well.
andy peebles now please he is a good radio presenter
