Yeah awful product, it took them an age to make it firstly. Next up it just looked cheap and tacky, it was just a glorified bit of cardboard.

Jonathan Ross actually had them on his show ages ago.

    Free publicity last night!!

I thought it was weird how Pets at Home was clearly shown (the biggest pet retailers in the UK, as Ben kindly reminded us), and yet all trace of Lush on the beauty products task was edited out.
Couldn't see the logic in it at all  Now the dust/drill catcher - I'd have one of those

It's hardly a passion-igniting product, but they could have easily sold that to a wide range of retailers. The products they chose ended up falling into the void as it were. Not appealing enough to a mass market for the big stores, and not specialist enough or just too niche for the smaller retailers. Plus the cat origami just being dreadful to start.

Lorraine's "This is a Cat's Playhouse.... For Cats" didn't exactly help!

Perhaps her thoughts had strayed to the inventer suggesting ferrets as well there?

I thought they were a decent enough idea, but the designer had gone 'boy orientated' and completely missed the fact that it would be small girls who are more likely to buy a pink castle style one for their kitten IMO

True story. No cat would give these a second look. A ridiculous product.

Quite. Besides, if your cat wants to build a fort then you should just give it a box and let it get on with it. No point handing the solution to them on a plate. Make them do the work. They'll appreciate it more

as being as one of the retailers that SAS laid on was a diy/hardware store, i am amazed that no team picked the dust catcher, and come to think of it, the ladder thing, as i think these 2 items would have made them a killing on the first day

Cats don't like cardboard! They want to be comfy, it's a nice idea but cardboard? Really?

Both my cats love cardboard boxes. If I buy a new pair of shoes, then they try & get in the box with the shoes still in there!
My cat actually sleeps in a cardboard box at night, he just sniffed and rejected the lovely fur cat bed I bought him.
I agree with a previous poster who thought a pink castle theme would be better.

Ironically Pets at home have now started to sell lovers lead.

    http://www.petsathome.com/

On the right at the top under both the products "as seen on the apprentice". Free advertising for them I suppose.

My cat used to absolutely love a cardboard box. He would jump in, (sometimes when the groceries were still inside) and systematically destroy it from the inside out. I think the most time one would last would be about 15 minutes. He wouldn't stop until the box was in pieces.

I certainly wouldn't pay good money for one of those ridiculous items.

My old cat liked to sleep in one on the boiler. Vet wondered why she had a temperature!

And unhygenic too - how would you clean it?
Cats are clean animals; it's not like they leave droppings. The worst you'd get would be some hairs shed in it. You could get rid of those by taking it outside, dismantling it, and shaking, then put it back together again.

It could have been a good product, but only at a much lower price.
