    Yeah it isn't great, but series looks promising. Looks like it'll be quite dark, it has a bit of a Twin Peaks meets Strangers on a Train vibe so far :)

    I can't get used to him putting on an American accent.

    Is this why he didn't speak a word in the advert for the show? Because it would put people off watching?

    Agree with Strangers on a Train vibe. Was going to throw in a bit of Faust for good measure. Still feels a bit to grounded in reality for me to have that Twin Peaks feel, but I like how it's all slightly otherworldly.

    Weird hearing Martin Freeman doing an American accent. It also sounds weird too. But it suits his character strangely. Too used to seeing him in Sherlock. Not bad so far. :)

    EDIT: Woah, that's a novel way to die.:o

    No. I'm the same but I watched episode 1 (very good) and everything was self-explanatory.

    And no, you definitely don't need to watch the film (though I'd recommend it). The first episode has gone down a completely different trajectory to the film. In the film, Jerry hires two men to kidnap his wife for money.
