Mens Suit/Tie/Shirt combo advice

I've got my daughter's Holy Communion coming up in a few weeks and I need advice as to what to go with my mid-grey suit that I've recently purchased.

but it's all I could get on my current budget) I was thinking a pale pink/pale blue shirt, with a silver/light grey tie (something like http://www.amazon.co.uk/Stripes-Cufflinks-cufflinks-Pointe-PH1152/dp/B005F7DXTS/ref=pd_sim_sbs_ap_1), black belt and black shoes. I may be going out for a few drinks after so I may well ditch the tie after the ceremony.
But any advice on that or changes would be greatly appreciated.
If it helps, just to give you an idea I have pale skin tone and I have blonde/shaved hair.
