So why didn't Roy Skelton voice the Daleks in the new series?

Would have been nice to have had him involved at some point.

Which would have made him alive when filming of Dalek stories took place.

But well into his Seventies, maybe they didn't want an "Old Man" Dalek? :p

That is a more plausible suggestion. :)

Ol' Man Dalek, that Ol' man Dalek
He just keeps exterminating, he keeps on exterminating along
He don't plant taters and he don't plant cotton
But those who plant 'em is soon exterminated
But Ol' man Dalek he just keeps exterminating along.

I think it would have been quite nice to have him (and possibly Nicholas Briggs for some e.g. the Empreor, the Supreme) voicing the Daleks and to have Terry Molloy playing Davros as well

New series = NuWho not series 7!

Roy Skelton may have been 'one of' the classic Who voices and was absolutely fantyastic, imho, NB is better. There is ALWAYS someone better.

2005 was a new series, a new era, with a new Dalek design, so I guess a new voice artist went with that update. We could equally ask why Terry Molloy didn't play Davros in TSE/JE. Things move on.

There are oh so many reasons why Terry Malloy wasn't asked to play Davros again imho:D:D Suffice to say, after Resurrection, I lost interest in Davros!

That wasn't terry's fault! He can hardly be blamed for bad writing!

    :D

He was never my favourite Davros, he was too different from the original. Still, better than poor David Gooderson who was shoved into Wisher's mask, that didn't fit around his mouth, and basically asked to mimic him.
