Total Recall remake (actually a replacement blu ray, had sound dropout problems with the first version, and still seees to be happening on, so have not really been able towatch it properly)
Resident Evil Retribution
So, Cunter. B, can you tell me what you thought of Total Recall? I was going to pop out and buy it from Blockbuster before they close if it's any good (but IMDB wasn't particularly helpful).
Another year without a showing of National Lampoons Christmas Vacation.
Suppose I'll have to get off my lazy backside and stick my bluray copy into my PS3! This used to be a regular fixture at Christmas - wonder why it's not being shown any more. Great Christmas film and Chevy Chase's best.

And, of course, what's Resi like?
Total Recall - not a big fan of the original, cannot consider it a classic. So though this is not that great it's no worse than the original.
Excellent production design and effects, the realisation of the future world is very well done, though obviously with huge influences from Blade Runner and Minority Report.
Resident Evil Retribution - absolutely dire. Seems to take place inside a virtual reality world, with the characters being chased everywhere by mutants, creatures etc ad nauseum...and it just lurches from one set piece to the next, with hardly 5 minutes going by without an explosion or a mutants head opening up. But then it's made by Paul W S Anderson, so what do you expect?

'Sh*tters full'... :-P
It's been showing on Sky movies. It's on twice today.
I like watching Christmassy films at this time of year. Over the weekend I watched Holiday Affair, with Robert Mitchum (swoon) and Christmas in Connecticut, with Barbara Stanwyck. Yesterday we watched National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, but tonight it'll be the Downton Christmas Special.
Just finished watching the last Harry Potter. Going to grab something to eat and watch Blade Runner and by the time that's finished i'll probably be a bit tipsy so I think i'll watch Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf because that's my go-to when on the verge of alcohol induced sleep!
Comments
BBC2 for Nigthmare Before Christmas and ROger Rabbit
C4+1 for Muppet Christmas Carol

Terrestrial showing. Ch5 used to show it fairly regularly as I recall. Don't have Sky Movies.
