One observation, i never understand is how if a hm was placed 242 put of 271 last year and 252 out of 291 this they can be said to have increased their ranking by 2%? If we deduct the new intake of 20 this year which you cant make a direct comparison with, then that would mean this year they are 252 out of 271 ? So in theory they are 10 places lower this year compared with the hms that were in it last year?

Being 252 out of 291 is a better ranking. 11 places lower on the face of it but tthe % difference between the places for that HM is a gain of 2% overall as effectively they drop 10 places, but to remain static they would effectively just drop 19 places (the number of new entries) any more would be a loss year on year, any less would effectively be a gain (although that depends on how many new entries are yet to be posted etc
I gave him his second highest ranking at 179. If it hadn't have been for what happened in that secret room with Hazel, I think he would have been ranked a lot higher, because before this, he actually seemed quite normal and nice.
284 (NEW) = Marco Pierre White Jnr (BB17) = 2172pts
Marco was too dominating and too much of an irritant. It was too much. And from the way he behaves outside the house, he's going to do himself some serious harm.
Natalie was my lowest ranked HM of this year's series. I had trouble deciding between her and Ryan as my lowest this year, but Natalie just tipped it for me. She had vendettas against Hughie and Jayne, which still continue today with her nasty tweets about them. I really did not like how when she and the rest of the Others entered the house, she practically immediately went to the rest of the house to spread the proverbial about them. IIRC, some of the stuff she was saying were clearly lies. She loved to give her side of things and to be nasty to others, but she literally would not let anyone else speak as she'd just walk off going "bye" and "I don't want to talk to you", when she was more than happy to talk to them when she was dishing it out.
That was me. I always liked Steve. He was never going to be the sort of HM that would have a lot of the series revolve around him, but I think I would have gotten along with him if I was in the house with him.
I'm surprised that she's gone up in the rankings. She was bad enough in BB15, but she was somehow even worse in BB16. Thankfully the producers saw sense the second time around and didn't praise her like they did during BB15's final few weeks.
One word to describe Ryan - desperate. He was one of the most, if not the most desperate for fame HM we've ever had. The desperation just oozed out of him. I don't believe his relationship with Hughie was real from his side. I think it is from Hughie's side, but not from him. Not only that, but he did have a nasty side, with the way he turned on Jason the night he was evicted. Jason chose to evict him was because he'd heard him be derogatory about women and Ryan became very nasty to him upon hearing that. Emma Willis referred to this in his eviction interview and then Ryan almost immediately after this proved that Jason was right with what he said, after he then said that Lateysha was funny for a girl.
Lesley took a climb up the rankings two years to get out of the bottom 5, last year she took a fall back and this year she drops even further and sits as the 6th lowest ranked Housemate.
Lesley is a strange one. She is always in my bottom 10 and clearly most folks feel the same. She stands out to me as being a Housemate with no redeeming feature at all where as usually you see something good about them, but we never saw her really being nice or happy at all! She obviously had HUGE insecurities but it was hard to find any empathy with her, espescilally with her horrible treatment of Sam which was just nasty.
Next up is BB9's Jennifer (or Monet) who continues to take small drops down the rankings. I've actually rewatched the first 4/5 weeks of Series 9 and to begin with Jennifer wasn't that bad, however after 2 weeks she just seemed to go into self destruct and turned into a right miserable cow.
Another HM for me with barely any redeeming features and whos true colours (self obsessed, self obsorbed, manipulative) came out very quickly. Monetgate was completely and utterly her fault and even when Rex apologies multiple times, she was still whinging and whailing like he had knifed her or something - what a fantastic moment when she (to her shock!) was voted out of the house, such a fab BB memory!
A rare climb next as BB12's runner up Jay reverses some of his big drops however despite the rise is still the lowest ranked BB12 HM with Jem still in front of him this year.
Surpised Jay is even this high, honestly for me one of the thickest, vilest, pathetic excuses for a man ever - just couldn't stomach the guy!
Pauline swaps places with Kenneth and gets her best ranking to date; 5th from bottom rather than 4th from bottom the last couple of years. She is once again the lowest ranked Housemate from BB15; which given the housemates of that year is a big feat.
That bottom ranking is mine. I found her utterly unbearable pretty much from the moment she was given power by the public onwards.
BB15 was alway going to be a nasty series, but it was Pauline who set the tone early on.
I did chuckle at Ian Symes reading out tweets about Pauline as the latest evictee, finishing with:
"and Kylie says... [*Pauline reacts*] 'Lovely day here in Brisbane, really sunny' - sorry nothing about you, Pauline."
Last BB9's Nicole took a fall down the rankings and into the bottom 10 HMs, this year however she manages to reverse that and takes a climb back up the rankings.

Last year David took a small drop down the rankings, this year he takes a climb however remains the second lowest BB8 HM, although this year behind Carole rather than Billi.
I feel a bit sorry for David. He didn't really do anything desperately unpleasant that I remember, and simply wasn't on camera long enough to form any positive impression.

Generally a very low value housemate. You really have to go some to make Tracy BB8 look like someone with a broad and versatile vocabulary.
That said, he was the inspiration for one of the best threads of that series. :cool:
His comically fake crying on the shoulder of Eileen as she wore an expression of pure cynicism was quite memorable too.
Jack once again loses out on the Glenny twin battle (once more by a big margin) and also continues to fall down the rankings; taking a fairly large drop compared to last year. Jack started out as my preferred of the twins in BB14, however he just became more and more irritating as the series went on. In the end I preferred Joe as do DS given he has been ahead every year.
Another twin next as Sally takes a massive drop in her second year on the rankings. Sally also slips below sister Amy this year. Sally (along with Amy) were the first victims of 4in/ 4out twist which saw the non-nominated Housemates face the vote and replaced by Marc, Harry Amelia, Sam and the return of SHOWBIZZZZ!!!!!!!!!!!
Next Up, is another BB14 HM as Jemima takes a big climb up the rankings this year and reverses her drop. Jemima was the second HM to be evicted in BB14 after losing out to Dexter and Gina in the vote.
Next up is BB10's Sree who takes a small climb up the rankings this year. I couldn't really stand Sree as I found him relentless and it irritated me that he stayed for as long as he did considering he p!ssed off most of the HMs throughout his stay in the house.
All the lowest ranked twins seemed to have gathered in a similar area as next up is the 4th new entry this year; Victoria. Victoria didn't last long in the house and after Andrew and Ryan entered the house as part of their task, Victoria and Emma decided to walk. Emma later returned, however Victoria was never seen again.
I agree about Sree, he was so relentless, anytime your thought maybe, just maybe, he wasnt all that bad, he'd go and do something to p you right off even more then he already had. He at times seemed to have a deathwish in that house and would always find a way to annoy everyone !
BB11's runner-up Dave takes another minor drop, slightly smaller than last year once again, however year on year holds up relatively well given he received some bottom rankings. IMO he just stayed way, way too long and the fact he was runner-up just shows how bad the final line up was after the quadruple eviction.
Victoria and Emma are the only twins to BOTH leave prematurely i.e not be evicted in the normal course of events. Was clear early on they didnt have much patience or self control

There's a respectful silence as Dale gathers his Zen to deliver the blow. When he finally obliterates the wood, Jen runs towards him screaming, as if he'd just stepped off the plane unscathed from his last tour of 'Nam. Silly moo.
Shahbaz took a huge drop last year and was in fact BB7's lowest ranked HM, however this year its all change as he ranks ahead of Sezer and Jayne and takes a climb back up the rankings. Shahbaz was pretty much a 1 week wonder in the house and I don't think being in there was good for him. Not a pleasant Housemate, however as everything escalated it became clear that it was better he walked and removed himself out of the house.
BB11's Govan takes a further climb up the rankings. Last year saw Govan take a massive climb and surge past 3 other BB11 HMs as he had previously been the lowest ranked HM that series. He now climbs past Dave and seems to be doing better by the year.
One of BB's biggest mistakes was putting Shahbaz in the house, he was totally antisocial and made no attempt to be liked and continually roundup the hms as much as he could to make them as mad as he could. He never acted humorously, always spitefully, seemed determined to be hated by everyone, how the others behaved being in that enclosed environment with someone like that, has come in for criticism from his apologists, who excuse his appalling behavior but should be thankful they didnt have to put up with it.
Following in her sisters footsteps, Amy plunges down the rankings this year, however she manages to stay ahead of her sister this year. They are the first set of twins to be completely out and were the Twins who lasted the shortest period in the show.
