He's hysterical. I've seen him twice over the years live and he was brilliant both times. I wanted tickets to his latest one but it was sold out instantly.
I dont' recall seeing any chav's either.
I just don't see what's funny about him, and his stand up. In fact it makes me feel uncomfortable to see just how much he sweats in a nice suit, when he's on stage.
I loved him (and Nathan Lane) in Mousehunt, and he was okay in Something About Mary.
I don't know why people can't accept that comedy is personal, I may find something funny that others don't and they find things funny I don't, doesn't mean I'm right they are wrong. It's just personal. I don't like Billy Connolly but he is seen as the best comedian out there. Doesn't mean I think people who like him are fools.
It's an awful thing to say but his sweating makes me feel sick, and it puts me off watching him. I know he can't help it but I find it so distracting and unpleasant.

He was also great in Funny Bones
LOL
Also, I agree!
And I find Lee Evans brilliant.
Negatives - his stage show is so horrifically bad it makes me cringe, as opposed to just not laughing.
This ^^^^ I just can't get past the sweating.
Like lots of you, i enjoy his film and tv work, but not his stand up.
He seems like a nice man though.
