tbf she probably was at some point going to or at least seriously thinking about it. Tho tbh back then it was alot of guess work from all the papers.

But it did look/sound ridiculous when they printed completely oposite stories.

She's only 5' 3'' so she won't weigh much anyway but she could do with a couple of stone

It was only two or so weeks before the divorce though, it wasn't straight after the cheating allegations.

In the article they said she hadn't spoken to a lawyer yet and "confirmed" there was no divorce, telling Ashley she was going to take him back

And as their sister paper printed the exact opposite, clearly one of them were talking complete rubbish. She can't have possibly both not spoken to a lawyer and spoken to a lawyer and sorted out a "divorce deal"

    Over reaction much?
I remember you mentioning it on one of the other threads that's all. Calm down. Also it's hardly 'your business' if its a forum - stop writing it all over the place then where everyone can see it. It's not like I'm snooping around in your letter box or something. Gosh.

Yes sorry if you think I over reacted, maybe I did a little, I just didn't like your insinuation that I go on and on about my own business when in a Cheryl thread because I don't and it was unfair of you to say that. Of course if I say something on a forum it's there for all to see, it's not a secret, if it was I wouldn't mention it. It's just a comparison I have used because for the newspapers to say Cheryl was at deaths door is insulting to those who really have been, and insulting to those people who believe she was and so a comparison can put it into perpective. Thats the only reason I mentioned it. That wasn't his first time in hospital and it won't be the last. Its ongoing and has been for years. It's not a big deal to me.

There are young girls who look up to the likes of Cheryl Tweedy and may like to follow her example of being stick thin. She may have had malaria, but her biggest problem is her malnutrition. That has been true long before the malaria came along and will remain long after it's gone.

You will have to excuse my ignorance cos I don't follow celebrity gossip or for that matter care , but it has occured to me, upon reading DS news items, that Simon has been asking about Cheryl, but I have seen no mention of her singing group companions making any comments or visits.

Sorry to dissappoint you but I do know exactly how hospitals work. I care for my elderly father who is in heart failure, kidney failure, has a pacemaker, has emphysema, was recently in hospital again, 3 weeks in intensive care, sedated for half of that etc etc etc. He wasn't stable enough to leave the hospital for 7 weeks and needs lots of care at home, so I know all about it thanks.
OK, so you are basing your knowledge of how the entire medical profession works based on a survey of one patient, who has an entirely different set of conditions, including multiple organ failure, and is much older. That's not very scientific.

Has it not occured to you that perhaps a previously healthy woman in her twenties, with a treatable, but serious disease, might follow a different course of treatment? This reminds me of all of the cervical cancer experts who cropped up when Jade was ill to insist that she couldn't possibly have been ill or had a hysterectomy because their mum/aunt/best friend had one last year ...

I'm not sure of your point either. Your dad was moved from intensive care into normal hospital care, and then went home and still needed care. Sounds not that different to what the papers are saying about Cheryl.

Perhaps she was never that ill, and maybe the whole intensive care thing was a total fabrication, but it is entirely possible, and your experience with your father is not relevant, except to make you bitter about it all.

I wouldn't say that the intensive care was a total fabrication but I do feel that the media speculation made things seem alot worse than it actually was. namely The Sun and NOTW.

ICU obviously wasn't "faked", UCLH is a NHS hospital, they're not going to admit her unless there is something wrong.

nah, the NOTW just used a random picture, Cheryl doesn't have extensions now and her hair's is a chestnut colour now, that was taken from 2008, I think. I remember seeing that picture before somewhere

Well then take that up with the newspapers who are saying it about her - she hasn't said anything. She may be thin but she's healthy. She's healthy - she isn't bone she's muscle because of her dancing. Cheryl is quite small in terms of her height if she weighed anymore she wouldn't look right. She was on the Xtra Factor eating a whole bargin bucket of chicken to herself - she does eat she just burns it off.

I remember when the Ashley affairs came out, she looked absolutely awful!. She really does need to put weight on though, atleast get up to a size 10.

I used my dad as an example, but didn't base my opinion on that. I've seen alot more than that in my life although am not prepared to go into it all on here. Just to clear up the home care, I'm his carer, he doesn't have and never had a nurse visit him at home. They don't provide things like that. Christ, you can barely get a GP out on a home visit these days, let alone anything else. I also do it out of my own time, for no money and have a full time job and family to fit in around it. To suggest I'm bitter is an insult to me, he doesn't have anyone else, so I do what I have to do. Maybe the only point I'm making in using his example is Cheryl is not ill in the real sense of being ill. She got a nasty little malaria bug and is malnurished which made it worse.
When you think of Intensive Care, you think of machines keeping you alive. I don't believe for a second Cheryl needed any machine to keep her alive. At most an intravenous drip of anti malaria whatever and some fluids, which can be done on any ward. It's not really Intensive Care is it. Intensive Care nurses are the best of the best. They work one on one and don't stop for a second. Its an insult to their ability.
However the papers will say what they want and people will believe what they want. It doesn't really matter to me either way. I don't lose sleep over Cheryl so don't really care.

No, because that's not her natural size. She was always petite, even before x factor.

Well from what you do for your father etc you of all people should know what it's like. Fair enough you don't like her, or her music or whatever but there's no need to be so hostile. She has malaria a potentially fatal illness - not a common cold. People seem to forget that and think she's sitting in an intensive care unit for 5 days for a cold sipping tea and eating grapes. The doctors at UCL hospital thought it be best to put her in the unit and their judgement is far superior to ours.

Just show some compassion. Nobody is asking you to listen to her music and stick posters of her round your sitting room and pray for her to get better.

Yeah but she wasn't this skinny. She was healthy looking back then. Now she just looks frail.

People can be admitted to ICU for 'simply' more intensive monitoring. It's not always about machines keeping people alive. Not even the reports suggest she was on life support at all.

Also, she was at a specialist hospital for malaria, they're going to be the experts in their field and so if they felt she didn't need ICU care they wouldn't have admitted her there. If she only needed a drip then clearly she wouldn't have been taken into ICU, especially in an NHS hospital

It may not even be her Malaria that caused her to go to ICU either, it may have been the pneumonia.

She wasn't always that petite, look at her early Girls Aloud days. She had much more weight on her than nowadays and it even showed on her face - she wasn't fat or anything, but she was much heavier than she is today. In fact, all of them were much curvier apart from Kimberley, so obviously it's not their natural size.

However, yeah, she was already before x factor that thin, it is nothing to do with Ashley and nothing to do with stress, it's just how she prefers her body to be, very slim. I've got no problem with it and I don't think she suffers from malnutrition, however I'm sick of reports always saying she lost weight due to stress when in fact she loves to be that thin.

She always been slim, but good slim, and used to have the best figure in Girls Aloud. Kimberly isn't hourglass she just has a big bum.

Then after the affair she was model skinny, and it detracts away from her nice face.
The reason the press blame Ashley for it is because she went to L.A after the first affair and came back looking terrible, and the second time an affair came up she lost what she gained again. Not saying it's completely true, but it doesn't need to be for the gutter press to lap it up.

So to praise Cheryl, you have to slag off Kimberley?

Go figure. Kimberley has a stunning figure, and she's still small. Just because she's got curves (she's probably one of the most blatant Hourglasses I've ever seen) :

    Second photo down.

She's just not skinny like the other girls. They've all lost their natural shapes and their healthy looks they had at the beginning when GA started. Except Kimberley, who always looks healthy, and gorgeous at the same time. Big bum
