Yep even the games you have bought and downloaded from the PS store can be taken back at any time, its why i only buy physical copies of games.

I don't think you even 'own' the physical copies.

You don't, you are buying a license to play the game. You may own the physical disc but not the content held on the disc.

Games are saved into your consoles memory.. Unless someone comes along and presses delete on your pad..

Digital Rights Management - If the game is "protected" by DRM (ie it has to connect to an online server to be verified) and those servers are turned off = unplayable game

Its a lot easier to revoke a digital licence than it is a licence on a physical copy.

But stuff they bought is getting deleted without his consent

Did he check the terms and conditions he would have had to agree to every time they did an update?

I haven't used Home since they took the bowling game away.

Now I think of it I don't recall Sony ever saying they were gonna carry it over to PS4 anyway. So I always assumed it would end along with any purchases on PS3.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Well your friend should have done before the idiot came up with the preposterous idea of suing sony...

And he would have seen that every time he pressed x he would have been giving away his right to anything.

    Digital future FTW :D:D

You might be surprised to know that you don't actually own anything you buy digitally and it can be taken away at any time, its all in the T&Cs none of us read.

Not reading T and Cs made me think of this

T&c should change to a bullet point list at the start as no one reads t&c for casual stuff like buying online.

1 - you are buying a license to play the game - u don't own shiiiiiit
    2. We have the right to remove the service (home, psn) it might not work thereafter
    3. No refunds / u can't sue us
    4. We spit in your general direction
