I'm no fan of that or blah.com. however I do wish they would educate themselves first. Its actualy hash, then the words that follow are the tag so #bothered when said out loud is "hash bothered" CAN U TELL ITS SUNDAY & I'M BORED#.COM
I would think since the hash is tagging the word as a search link on twitter that the # in context is a hash tag. "hash tag soboredtonight "
There are two types of people who use hashtags. The who them using #pointless words (see what I just did there), and then those who use them as they are intended to.
They are really helpful when talking about things to do with a certain subject, like F1, as you search for the hashtag #f1 and you only get F1 related posts.
On a plane once with a bunch of stag weekenders. All flight they kept shouting 'hashtag' and following it with incredibly hilarious comments. It's a wonder we didn't all hyperventilate from laughing, it was so incredibly funny.
