That's a good price isn't it, especially if you really want ESPN.

Not bad at all. I know someone who was quite interested in Tivo but has no need for a phone and is quite happy with a PAYG BB dongle so I might mention that to her.

Does a new customer still get free activation and installation if they only take the Tivo TV service?

    Cheers for the info

I got my bill dropped to 47.90 for XL TV, 20mb BB, M Phone and Tivo.

I was told if i upgraded to 30mb BB it would cost me more, which i thought was odd since i thought 30mb was suppose to be cheaper than 20mb ?

I took it all as a bonus really. I'm sure I was about £28 with Sky (couldnt get signal, long story), so pre-Tivo I was paying £30.50 but getting ESPN plus all the extra HD channels thrown in, MOD, etc.

If I was still with sky I wouldnt pay the extra for ESPN and HD, so personally was a huge win for me.

ps. I've nothing really against Sky and enjoyed my time with Sky+ too, before anyone jumps on me. LOL

I'd probably be marginally better with all the services but dont like all my eggs in 1 basket. Pay about £14 to BT and £12.26 to Be* internet for 24MB.

I'm in a similar position as I had XL with VM but didn't really need ESPN and preferred a wider spread of channels so got Sky TV but have phone and BB with VM and still have the free TV M so we can still enjoy the catch up. I agree it is a little bit more expensive not having a bundle with one provider but it works for us, best of both worlds really.

Also benefitted from getting a dirt cheap mobile contract.

    XL Phone
XL 30MB BB with free superhub

    Mersey70,
Id check your billing if I was you.
I have Sky for my TV ( would have still been with VM had it not been for the Sky Channel issues a couple of years ago.)
I have my large BB, Phone XL and as I still have an old VM box ( thats hubby uses with the computer) I had the TV packages which I thought was supposedly free. However, as I pay by direct debit I never used to check my bill and found out that they had changed me to the XL tv package ( which I did nt need) and charged me for the priviledge. I then changed to the M tv package which saves me about £15 per month, but am still charged for the M package. I asked and he said that the tv was never free as part of the phne and bb package.

    £56.05 for

    Talk International (don't need/want)
    At Races (don't need/want)
    Talk Mobile
    Talk Unlimited
    TV Size: X L
    1 Add Set Top Box
    V+ HD Monthly Fee
    Broadband XL(20)

    plus

    £29.50 for
    Movies4,Movies5,Sports1,Sports2 (only need/want Sports)

    plus

    £13.90
    Phone line rental total

£99.45 a month (£1193.40 pa) is crazy when I don't even want Sky Movies or 160 channels of rubbish. The only things I like are the extra box, 20mb BB and Sky Sports (and that's only football)
I'm determined to reduce the bill and get a Tivo upgrade. Will let you know how I get on!
