In the toaster or under the grill ?

In the toaster is nice, lightly done with some margarine on it..

i like it under the grill if im doing a toastie with ham, cheese and tomato on it under the grill..Its nice that, especially if you use a baguette cut in half..yum :)

In the toaster, well done - the darker the better for me. Ultra low fat Flora spread - if not low fat houmous.

Definitely toaster - grill dries the bread out too much for my liking.

I like granary toast done in the toaster and spread with a mix of avacado and soft cheese. I also quite like spreading the bread with butter first and then putting it in the toaster, really tasty.

In the toaster done to a medium brown with proper butter on it.

I use those toaster bags for toasted cheese and ham or cheese and onion sandwiches.

    I like it either way.

Normally I like it really crunchy and well-done with butter and marmalade.
If it's sliced bread (like kingsmill) then I like it very lightly toasted with cheap marge! Don't know why - I think it reminds me of the toast we had in school at breaktime.

I grill toast or make it on the rayburn hob, for which I have a rack gadget thing.

I like my toast the same way that The Stranglers like their toast -
    Golden Brown ! :D
But actually. I like my toast made in the toaster, the grill dries out the bread.

This!! in-fact I could just as easily eat butter on granary bread :o

And it has to be salted butter (I get unsalted for baby and white bread - yuck!!)

Oh and I use the grill

I always use the toaster dont like butter or marge so its always a cheese spread. For toasties I always use the george foreman, only time I ever use the grill is for roasted cheese.

    Under the eye-level grill. I don't have a toaster.

Lightly done with Asda/Lidl English unsalted butter.

I love Warburtons Crusty but have recently abandoned it for Warburtons Wholemeal.

In the toaster, nicely browned but not too well done. Then left to go cold and spread with Lurpak spreadable.

The toast never seems right from a toaster, always a bit soggy even if it's a good golden brown colour. The grill takes more time and you have to watch it more closely, but the quality of the toast is much better, probably because it lets the steam escape.

Toaster - medium brown - buttered hot (or spread) - jam/honey/lemon curd/marmalade to taste

Normally or sometimes i put cream cheese and some ham on it, but got none in, or a spread of some paste, again i got none in. so i have to put up with either spread of margarine or spread on cream cheese today for lunch :D

Toast has to have cheese on or beans (or both). I don't mind it with pate, although I prefer pate on a crusty baguette. Toast on its own is one of the most overrated things around. If I'm having a cooked breakfast and it comes with toast I always leave it. Fried bread all the way!

In the toaster, thick bread lightly toasted with anchor butter

In my mind nothing beats having toast done on an open fire, which I used to do years ago,at my gran-parents house...
