It's been a lot easier for me to compile a list of terrible movies than the best movies movies of 2013. The list below (in no particular order) are the 10 worst pieces of crap I've had to sit through all year:

GI Joe: Retaliation
Now You See Me
The Lone Ranger
Jack the Giant Slayer
Oblivion
After Earth
Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters
A Good Day to Die Hard
Pain & Gain
Side Effects (probably a controversial choice but I found it ludicrous beyond belief)

Honourable mentions to Jack the Giant Slayer, Bullet to the Head and Oz the Great & Powerful.

What are your worst movies of the year?

MOS was my most anticipated movie of the year and ended up being my most disappointing movie of the year. I didn't think it was awful but I expected so much better.

Only seen one truly awful film this year, Jack the Giant Slayer. It was just boring, mind numbingly dull tripe.

I'd rather have re-watched Transformers 3, it might have been overlong, racist, misogynistic and wholly inappropriate for children, but at least it wasn't boring.

I probably loathed Olympus has Fallen the most, however Man of Steel could be a contender consider how much of a colossal disappointment it was.

    After Earth

A 90 minute film that felt like it ran for three hours. And during the 90 minutes nothing of any interest whatsoever happens.

I kinda liked Hansel and Gretel, its one of those movies that grow on you. Certain bits were boring such as the young lad that joins them.

My worst movies would be Pacific rim and a good day to die hard, I was a bit let down by contracted too which wasn't a big budget movie but had many critics saying it was great. It was simply a very nasty movie.

Y'see, this is why it's a good idea to read some reviews before committing your hard-earned cash and precious leisure time.

I haven't seen anything truly bad this year because the real turkeys like The Lone Ranger, The latest Die Hard etc are flagged up well in advance.

I went to see Oz; the Great & Powerful because my daughter wanted to see it and that was bad. World War Z was bad but not dire. Gravity was disappointing but, again, not terrible.

It's been a really good year for film.

I don't understand all the hate Oblivion is getting, sure it's derivative and the script needed a few more drafts. But if it's your worst film of the year, you should count yourself lucky...

That sounds terrible. Why did you have to sit through all those awful films? Who was forcing you? Something should be done!

For me, Man Of Steel was the worst film of the year. It had been hyped up so much and at the end of the day, it was very boring, cheesy and I didn't care for what been happening.

Was it released in cinemas or direct-to-DVD? If not, then
"Sharknado" belongs in the TV section.

As the other poster said, MoS was a disappointment-there
is so much potential with a Superman film!

I agree about the Lone Ranger it was dreadful all bar the end scene which was fantastic, I remember thinking why oh why couldn't all the movie be like the ending which was both crazy and funny.

Another bad movie imo was the big wedding, how can a movie with a cast like that get it so wrong.

Not necessarily the worst, but one of the worst is The Wind Rises, the last work of Japanese Legend Hayao Miyazaki.

I got so bored and the message at the end was really dodgy

For worst films, I would vote for

    - A Good Day to Die Hard - can't believe how bad this movie is.
    - After Earth - please wake me up when it's over.

No other film mentioned so far, are as bad these.
