Must admit, I didn't expect Opie's going away plans to mean keeping Jax & Co company inside.

    Ope! You bastards

I knew he wasn't long for this season as I'd been spoilered ages ago. But wow, that was still really hard to take. I feel quite bereft :(

I knew what was coming, I'd read about it, I'd even seen clips on YouTube but man, that was brutal. I cried like a baby. I sometimes watch the episode again on +1 becuase there's some much happening I usually miss something, but I couldn't watch that epiosde ever again.

I missed past of this episode but managed to see the part where Opie was killed and what about his kids they have already lost their mother Donna. I always liked his character and why was he killed off. Cannot take to Tig at all. He was too much in with Clay from the start to try and begin a new alliance with Jax. So who will be Jax's right hand man now
What's the story with Jimmy Smits and Gemma

Bobby Elvis is the new VP, he took the patch when Opie didnt turn up at the meeting.

Chibs always votes Jax's way anyway and with Tigs vote secured and Bobby (as VP) as well, Happy and Juice will vote that way as well

Not really sure if Clay has a vote anymore?

    Glad I wasn't the only one :o

I was shocked when Piney was killed last season, even though that was likely to happen, but losing Opie is going to be really hard for me to get over.

I'm wondering why the cops raided Nero's escort agency. I have a feeling that Clay has some involvement with this, as well as the recent home invasions. Despite his seeming frailty, Clay's not going to shrink back into the shadows. He's not done with the club - or Gemma - by any means.

Last night's episode was great and season 5 has got off to a great start. Opie's final minutes were great and I loved it. Sad to see Opie go but he was never going to let Jax take the fall for the club.

I wish 5USA would stop messing about with the Saturday schedules. They've repeated Weds episode of SoA the past 2 Saturdays but aren't showing this week's tomorrow night, so I would've been buggered if I'd missed it on Weds night.

It does bug me when 5USA aren't consistent with repeating it (I prefer to watch it on TV rather than online).

Wednesdays episode was good .....but the part where Opie was attacked and killed was so brutal, it was awful to watch such a loyal character have his life ended in this way.........let the war begin.

Opie's death was horrific, such powerful television.

Not sure which bit of Hamlet that was in.

I'm not sure if it's still following Hamlet. The first season was, but I think they might have given up by now.

It was quite brutal, and the episode title 'Laying Pipe' seemed apt (pipe in the windpipe ). Am I right in thinking it looked as though Ope was about to get decapitated before the scene cut away?

More tears at the end this week - I love those 'club' moments, when you can really feel that this is a brotherhood. Unfortunately the sisterhood when to hell with that appalling catfight. Sometimes Sutter can be just a little too gratuitous for his own good. Why did Tara let herself get manipulated by Gemma of all people? Surely she knows all Gemma's plays by now? What happened to 'everything you taught me?' from last season?

Oh my, what this show does to me..........another emotional ep. Jax telling Lyla she had all the support she'll need from her 'club family' was really touching.

I really can't wait to see Jax get justice for Opie.

I can't put my finger on it, but there's something about Tara over the seasons that's bugged me ever so slightly. I understand the story arc, but at the moment, I can't really get on board with Tara's transformation.

Great farewell to Opie. touching but not overdone.
I'm also looking forward to seeing Jax get vengence.

Clay seems to have passed the a-hole stick to Gemma. Last season he was uncharacteristically dickish, but this season he is more his old self. This season Gemma is twice as bitchy as normal.
I did like Jax's put down though, "I have more important things to do today..."

I agree. I also think she doesn't look as good these days.
I also noticed she had no bruises or cuts despite getting a few punches in the garage fight.

Really enjoying this season. Jax should have put Tig in to die in the jail. After all it was his fault the mess they had got into.

Tig getting put into the fight wasn't an option though- Pope made that very clear.
Besides, Opie's death had to happen in order to get Jax to step up his game. I've seen the entire season and without spoiling it- Jax becomes pretty ruthless at times.

I haven't liked Tara this season, find her Gemma 'Mini me' act a bit off putting.
