There is one minor error above and that was Nomad did not get played in the Top Ten, as it had already been played on the Dance Chart, but otherwise the rest is all accurate !!

I've kept one solitary videtape (locked in my 'time capsule') from January 1989 which has the complete 1988 end-of-year special & the first two or three full editions from Jan 1989.Not sure how the quality would be now as I haven't had a videoplayer for about ten years !

Videos can keep their quality very well epsecially if they are locked away hope you can find a way to get these onto the internet would be great to see them.:)

Sadly I haven't got a VT player or the technology required to upload the material on the tape.
The only way to get the shows on YouTube/Myspace would be for me to send the tape to someone on here who could then relay all the programmes onto the internet.
If anyone is willing to do this PM me & I'll happily post the tape forward. :)

I reckon I remember that 1988 end of year show - didn't the few 'coming next year' previews at the end include "She Drives Me Crazy" by FYC and "Cuddly Toy" by Roachford?

:eek: I did send the tape to a jolly nice chap from your area about 6 years ago, so it's very likely it was your good self.
The 1988 end of year special is still online as is the first 1989 episode, but I think the January 14th episode got lost when Youtube clamped down on the unlucky few.
Have you still got all the episodes (I very likely) sent you way back then ? :)

Yes I have, they're backed up on my external hard drives and I have DVD copies as well. The tape also had an episode from May 1989 on it (and I have a copy of that too!)

Great stuff !! Maybe yourself (or Razdan as he includes all the other programme info) could upload the unseen episodes on Myspace or YouTube ?
I forgot about the May '89 episode on the tape I sent, not sure if that particular one is the May 27th edition with the Indie Chart as that weeks specialist Top 10 as that's the only May '89 show available online. :)

I have some channel 4 stuff from March 1988 still on VHS (the Comic Strip series from that year) and the March 88 CS on this link has all the same ads (of course it would have wouldn't it?). That Brook Street one I noticed in particular and I remember it was on far too much and had a high irritation factor.

Damn my family's Amstrad twin speed VCR - if it wasn't for that bloody machine chewing up so many tapes I would still have a few 1988 Chart Shows as well.

Ah... Squeeze on Back to Back ! I went to see them in concert last year. Still great.

    Hi crowby1

Any chances of uploading some chart show charts from March 1988 such as the specialist charts (ie. heavy metal, indie and dance), chart file updates and Top Ten on YouTube, which hasn't been uploaded by me, benriggers or anyone else ?

I think you misunderstood my last post razdan (I'm a child of 1974 also btw :) )

I had the 1986 Xmas special, and two shows from 1988. These were both chewed up by my family's Amstrad VCR in the early 90s.

I do, however have the remnants of a 1992 Chart Show kicking around somewhere which I remember featured Shamen's Boss Drum and the remix of Heaven 17s Temptation, which dates it as about October 92.

Now, if I can just work out which of my many tapes its on...

If you're keen to see it, I'll see if I can dig it out and put it on my own MySpace account.

There are loads of 1989 episodes on YouTube and MySpace. Of course they don't consist of every episode made in 1989, but there are loads compared to 1986, where there is only very few. Wouldn't mind if there are loads of episodes from 1986, that would be something I would love to see !! :D

There are a handful of late August/early September 1986 (+ the full end of year special) Chart Shows on Bens myspace page amongst his 113 videos.
The three 1986 episodes I found there (22 August, 5th Sept & 12th Sept 1986) are each split into 2 parts.

The 1986 special is somewhere in there in its entirety.

Worth a good perusing if you have the time and you don't need to log in !
