I honestly think most people know about +1 anyway. They've used it for several years. Who's to say they won't just watch the repeats instead?
As said before, it isn't as much an information service about +1 but more of a prompt, reminding people about the facility. It can't do any harm and may just result in a decent Saturday figure including +1. May.

Yet strangely neither channel appear willing to do it.
Has bringing Simon.Cheryl back not proven that most people are beyond caring about this stuff? The format is inevitably tired after so many years. Manage the decline for sure, but look at American Idol - they tried so many rejigs of that show, but terminal decline is just that.
Sunday ratings:
#StrictlyComeDancing results - 8.84m/38.3%
#TheXFactor - 8.81m/35.2%
#DowntonAbbey - 7.82m/33.0%.
Let the arguments commence
Good god at Downton! People really are bored of it aren't they? I'm not surprised as its become a posh soap opera. To lose over a million viewers in a fortnight is quite telling.
Edit - sorry, Downton hasn't lost over a million viewers in a fortnight. But including +1 it's dropped 0.60m.
I've never seen Downton but some of the TV critics have been complaining about lack of drama and poor story lines.
What has happened to Downton Abbey? What is going on? The Christmas special is going to be toast in the ratings.
If people weren't interested in X Factor all of the shows would be down. Maybe X Factor should just be a one hour results show on Sunday?
A good start for Strictly results. Should be over 9m perhaps?
#TheXFactor scored 8.5m/33.9% from 8pm on ITV for final #JudgesHouses edition, and further 314k/1.3% watched on +1 http://www.overnights.tv
Fellowes should consider ending it soon while it's still on a reasonable high.
"@TVRatingsUK: Compared to same Sunday last year:
#Strictly - UP 0.6m
#XFactor - UP 0.4m
#DowntonAbbey - DOWN 1.4m."
TXF at 7.3m yesterday, then suddenly over 8.8m the next day. Downton shedding viewers each week?
SCD 8.19m (33.2%)
XF 8.43m (37%)
Last year X Factor and Strictly clashed. X factor ran from 7.15 to 9pm last year. So is probably significantly down year on year between 8 and 9pm.
Welcome to the party H.
Its these sort of wild changes to ratings that I have queried over the years and therefore did not exactly trust in BARB.
Worrying for Downton, it no longer looks quite as all conquering as it did.
The focus will inevitably switch towards Downton as today's ITV crisis topic.
As for Downton, Fellowes has been phoning it in for years now, after he managed to get away with the truly awful second series he realised viewers would watch anything. No effort goes into writing it at all and its looks like viewers are finally realising it, even I've stopped watching and I vowed to watch until Michelle Dockery realised she could do better.
I like that other dramas being down = viewers not wanting to watch, but Downton being down = there must be something up with Barb. A drama in its fifth series losing viewers isn't really a sign that there's something up with the system, there's quite a few signs there's something wrong but that's not one of them.
