A month or so ago I was quite chuffed at receiving £88 in the post from the tax man, an unexpected bonus :D

Fast forward up until a few days ago and I received 3 more cheques totalling £788  all of these are from 2005 to 09. What a great Christmas bonus this is, happy days.

After speaking to a few mates it seems they're going around like the plague.

Have you received any? If not get checking! :p

For the 2005 - 2009 period people will automatically be sent a cheque if they are owed money. The implementation of a new tax I.T. system showed up calculation errors in the old one.

I got one for £30.58 for 05/06. My Dad recieved one the other day for £900 that my Grandmother had overpaid in 05/06. That to me is quite a lot for a pensioner to overpay!

I haven't even got one :( Even £24 would do me nicely, see me through to payday :)

No but I could really do with one....I know I won't get it though cos I always claim any overpaid tax at the end of the tax year.

well it's better not getting a rebate than getting a letter telling you you owe tax .

Are all the rebates handed out now? Or is there still hope for me?

Was it a general error or did it apply to a specific set of people (ie self employed, marrieds etc)?

    Ta.

Yes, I got a quite a nice amount last week.

It wasn't out of the blue though. A letter stating the amount arrived the week before.

If you were meant to be sent a tax rebate, where would it be sent? Eg. address you're on the electoral register/address on work file?

Same hear mate. I have not received one, but my wife has and she got a rebate back of £46.00. Knowing my luck my tax would have been perfect.
