Bit delayed this week as I was waiting to see what happened with the Red Bull/Ricciardo situation but that is not going to be resolved for another few weeks so take this table as provisional pending any overturning of the results on appeal. Hamilton's race retirement came as a disappointment to many predictors, with no one picking young gun Magnussen for a podium. Rosberg was this weeks money bet with plenty cashing in.
Fuelgate rumbles on in the back ground as teams head to the hot and humid climbs of Malaysia. With the ever present threat of a sudden downpour teams will need to be on their 'A' when it comes to strategy should this occur in qualifying or during the race. With reliability still a concern for many this could be the one chance for teams at the back of the grid to score some points.
Just tell me:
The driver who qualifies on pole (5pts)
The drivers finishing 1st/2nd/3rd in any order. Points will be awarded based on where your driver(s) finish. 25pts for first, 18pts for second, 15pts for third.
Spot the popular score this week. Hamilton pole with himself and Rosberg on the podium got most people their haul this week but it was those who managed all of the podium that fared better along with our first clean sweep of the season by Mr Michael. The average point score moved up this week by just over 8 from 39.1 the previous to 47.4 this. Expect this trend to continue for at least another couple of weeks as the early front runners become clear before many teams bolt on there first major upgrade come the start of the European season. As always check your score.
With little prospect of rain to help the Red Bulls in qualifying will this week see them slip back down the pecking order or can they make another step with the troublesome Renault power train? IEither way it will be all down to Vettel with Ricciardo on the receiving end of a 10 place grid penalty after his wheel trouble last time out. Williams were the fastest team around here in preseason testing, could they spring a surprise or were they flattering to deceive? Some minor upgrades for Maclaren could see them move a little closer to the front. It looks like being quite a bun fight behind the Mercedes
