I'm a huuuge fan of postmodern jukebox and Scott Bradlee! I think a few of their covers would suit quicksteps or charlestons. Definitely worth listening to his youtube channel.... I especially love his version of thrift shop and think it would be perfect for strictly.
I also think you could maybe do a jive to pon de replay by rihanna. And has anyone ever done a cha cha to mucho mambo (sway)? It seems like such an obvious choice it MUST have been used on strictly.
Rumba - "Unintended" by Muse
Cha Cha/Salsa - "Dance With Me (Club Mix)" by Debelah Morgan (the original was used for John & Nicole's Tango back in s5)
Argentine Tango - "Whatever Lola Wants" by Gotan Project
Jive - "Caramelldansen" by Caramell (might be a bit fast but I'd like to see them try it )
Quickstep/Charleston - "Ma I Miss Your Apple Pie" by Sam Browne
Foxtrot - "I Won't Come In While He's There" by Jim Reeves
Cha Cha Cha - "Hollywood" by Madonna
Rumba - "Nothing Hurts Like Love" or "Never Gonna Leave Your Side" by Daniel Bedingfield
I am a huge fan of John Barry's work - but the Bond stuff keeps getting crow-barred in - usually as some wacky "Theme" (Mark's "Blofeld" Rumba still gives me nightmares).
John Barry did fantastic other stuff.
The Persuaders
Born Free
Midnight Cowboy
amongst many others.
What about a Bee Gees night ?
So many huge songs by the Gibb Brothers for them and other people.
I think we're definitely going to get a Jive to Happy by Pharrell.
I'd expect so.
I'd also like to see two duets that did well this past year or so used: Pink and Nate Ruess "Just Give Me a Reason" for the rumba (the drum beats used as it gets going would I'd like to think satisfy those who like to see traditional music used, and lift it above just offering the pace of the usual ballads) and Great Big World/Christina Aguilera "Say Something" for a (admittedly slow and subdued) VW.
I'd also like to see a McFly song used for a Foxtrot, namely "Love is Easy" which I always thought would be a bigger hit than it was when released in 2012.
If they are going to do any more theme weeks I would love it if they did one featuring music from the 1940s (i.e. Glenn Miller etc). Maybe they could have the guys dressed in officers' uniforms like they had in one of the professionals' group performances a few years ago?
If they allow Blurred Lines - Then I nominate songs from the "South Park" movie soundtrack.
Tango - Blame Canada (nominated for an Oscar, and only contains one "F-Bomb")
Foxtrot - Up There (The Devil's song - perfect for Halloween night)
Kyles Mom's a b**ch - Charleston
Or just get Strictly taken off air by using "Uncle F***er" - the rudest song ever written. !!
Some great suggestions above - it's been fun to discover some new music! Hope the BBC producers read DS message boards, so we can have some better music choices in 2014 (there were some real hummers last season, as well as a few highlights).
I can't remember Wilson Pickett's "Land of A Thousand Dances" ever being used for a Jive on Strictly. It might be too fast paced for a contestant, but how about a great Ensemble Jive by the Pros next series? Would soooooo love it!!

Bill Turnbull, Karen Hardy, Tango.
Was used by the troupe in DWTS a season or two ago. Not sure if the lyrics are, er, a bit controversial for Auntie ;-)

I'd love to see a Charleston danced to Ginger Bread Man by Dirty Honkers:

Does anyone think they are beginning to struggle with finding Hallowe'en themed songs?
Which songs would suit which dances?
