    Three years. :o

Good to see a hard man to rival King Phelan back on the street mind.

EDIT:- Oops, just read the article, it doesn't look like he's returning to the cobbles.

Why have all the soaps become obsessed with bringing back all these shit characters? No wonder the ratings are falling.

He got sentenced Seven years in prison offscreen in October 2011

Meaning he shouldn't be out until April 2015 if he serves half his sentence

It's mad that Steve macdonald has been in the show 25 years without any kind of extended break or anything that I'm aware of, I think he could end up giving ken Barlow a run for his money and end up spending the next 20-30 years on the show

    He wasn't a shit character!
And the ratings aren't that bad, calm down
Jim is a positive for Corrie so far and the other good storylines

Agreed with this - Jim Mc's a blooming Corrie legend - nowhere near sh1t.

I can think of plenty of deadwood rubbish that should be cleared out mind...And Jim wouldn't be one of them.

    That is Another topic though.

No, not t'Cobbles initially, but hopefully he will do at a future point in time.

It would then appear to be from prison, for his return this time (I would assume).

He rivals ED's Dan as the biggest gurner on tv. Seen him on a number of shows and he plays himself almost.
Really really shit actor but he has been a good character all the same.

Phelan will try it on with Liz, scaring her.

Jim will sort out Phelan, for good, from his cell

    Or when he gets out.

(Perhaps a job with Owen, and he becomes appraised of Phelans' wrongdoings ?)

    My prediction anyway.

He will raise the Corrie standards IMHO.

(And Charlie Lawson is a really nice guy in real life)

What havoc is he going to cause while he's in prison? They could just have done a Jim 'owns' the justice system storyline to get him out, like EE did with Philth.

I'll shake the man's hand, so I will; and Elizabeth and Stephen will be pleased to see him, so they will.
