I was in Poundland earlier today, and noticed they were selling Chub Rolls for £1 for two.

I've just tried buggerlugs on a slice and, despite her having already been fed today, she wolfed it down.

At about 6.5p per 100g slice, plus about 6p worth of biscuits, that means I'm feeding her for about 25p per day.

Used to get these when we had our old Benny dog he loved them ! Can't feed them to Mollie she has too delicate a tummy but I have never met a dog that didn't enjoy them.

Buggerlugs is actually a cat, but she seems to like it.

Buggerlugs might like it but cat need their own type of food and a dog food diet isn't enough. Cats must have taurine in their diet and I don't think you get that in dog food.

She's getting Cat Star biscuits with it, and tinned food (also with the biscuits) on some days.

She won't be having the chubs all the time.

as a treat it's perfectly fine

our old dog missey was on chub rolls as a pup, we had to take her off them though as they made her back end smell rather fishy

she was back on them at the end of her life though as she refused most other foods.
bless her. our boy finished them off when she had gone and loved them, but he's a dry food dog so once they were gone that was it unfortunately!

he does get the odd bits now and then with his kibble though, have been thinking about getting him a box of the smaller chub rolls from webbox (as the large ones tend to go mouldy, if not used up quickly) but the smaller ones would be used up in a couple of days so they're not too bad
they're £1.49 for either 5 or 6 rolls, it works out about the same as two larger ones

I got two of the 800g ones.

I cut it into thick slices, and put them into a tubular clip lock container, and store it in the fridge.

we wrapped them up and put them in the fridge but they still managed to go a little bit south
but our older dog was eating very little at the time, we binned mroe than we used with starting to cut a slice from the sausage and bin that, before taking another slice as her portion

though we could only find them in chicken or beef, they disn't have the other flavours anywhere near us.

If you take them out of the tube and portion them up you can freeze them quite sucessfully. I used to fill kongs with it and freeze them too which all my dogs loved especially in the summer.

I always assumed this was rubbish food for a dog. But, I'm willing to be open minded after our vet reccomended chappie for McGee and his poorly tummy. I always thought chappie was crap too, but it's apparently balanced, good for them and cheap!

So are chub rolls actually ok?

I never call her in.

When she's ready to come in, she meows and I open the door.

If she doesn't want to come in, I don't try to make her.

It's a complimentary food should be fed as a treat or extra not really enough nutrients to be used as the main meaty bit of the diet.

I give my dogs gravy bones and sometimes get chappie dry to bulk out chappie wet

Mollie is gluten intolerant so chubs are good frozen treat for her, I make biscuits for her too with gluten free flour. Our others used to like gravy bones though.
