He made it clear he had nothing against the fact they were asian but that they were chatting with him in English and then to each other in different language. He also felt the content of their conversation was bit rude so this pushed him over the edge I think when they did the dual chatting.
Curious that in all of this you have not actually stated your own opinion on all of this...well?
In barbers today two Pakistani men were doing just this talking in both English and Pakistani. Now the barber claimed this was rude after they left as they were talking to him in English and then to each other in Pakistani.
Do you agree?
So if you went to France or Spain would you talk to your partner in French or Spanish all the time or would you speak French or Spanish to the barber and then English between yourselves?
They came to and choose to live in England, so they should speak English.
Why on earth should they be compelled to do that?
English-speaking skills are no doubt essential to anyone who wants to work and fully enjoy life in England, but that doesn't mean one has to abandon one's own language or feel it is somehow inferior.
The people in question spoke English perfectly well anyway, according to the OP.

You guys are a bit late to the party - see post #4.
Sorry, I missed that!!
No problem.
It's my own fault - I forgot that subtlety is wasted on this forum.
Sorry, missed the response
Ouch! I consider myself slapped!
I just didn't see your post that's all...

I meant in general.
No one commented on it, but c'est la vie. <shrug>

Very good....

They spoke in English. Read the post, sweet cheeks.
How do you know they live there? Maybe they are students or visitors?
I dont speak Morrocan or French or German when I go to those places.
I spent a year abroad & couldnt speak a word of the local lingo!

Maybe they were on holiday or visiting relatives.
Would you speak French, Spanish, Italian the whole time you was visiting the country?
Is that what it said? How'd you know?!
Oddly enough, I don't speak any imaginary languages.
I speak perfect Urdu.
Either that, or I copied it into Google translate...
I'll let you decide which!
Unless it happens to be Welsh.
Nice. No idea what Welsh has to do with it.
I like Farsi, which, although it is spoken principally in Iran, is an Indo-European language. It has all sorts of interesting etymological cognates
/language anorak
I asked the barber for a perfect Urdu but it turned out a bit of a Farsi.
