It was interesting in my household as both me and my Mother are both anti-Royal, my Mother however was very big on Diana and was in tears at the news. My Dad on the other hand who is very pro-Monarchy, was glad the silly tart was dead.
Me I just say and watched tv, totally indifferent to it.
I remember that Sunday, I was off to play football that morning and one of my team mates had come round ready to travel to the game. When we got there, an absolute huge thunderstorm took us off the pitch for twenty minutes. But we managed to finish the game so that was ok!
I remember also for the funeral, I worked at Tesco and they closed the store for a few hours so staff could go and watch it on the telly.
diana is my hero and i want to go out there and do some big things. i have big plans for the future. her story shows that anything can happen in a split second.
I was never a fan and didn't quite understand the very public outpouring of grief at the time.
That said, the timing and manner of her death were completely shocking.
This is my opinion on it, wasn't a fan of hers but the manner of her death was a shock and the fact it left two young boys without their mother was sad, the same as it would be with anyone losing a parent.
As for where I was, yes I was at home, got up, put the TV on fairly early and caught the announcement as the BBC's rolling coverage started. Shouted upstairs to my housemate as we're both journalists and the pair of us sat glued to the TV screen for the rest of the day more out of interest in the media reaction than because either of us were Diana fans.
I found it fascinating then and still do to this day, that there are protocols in place for what happens if a member of the Royal Family dies abroad even in Diana's case, where she was only an ex-Royal but the protocol still kicked in.
I was in a swimming pool in Jamaica with my mum and uncle when we got the phone call from someone in England to tell us Princess Diana had died. I was only 10 so had no real idea who she was, my mum was upset but my uncle was worse as he really loved her and had been at the wedding.
I remember the first reports coming in as I was up working late that night. I watched for news all night, Dodi was already reported dead, and Diana just injured. About 4 in the morning the last report I saw was that Diana had a broken arm and a seriously cut leg. I went to sleep after that thinking how sad it would be for Diana the next day to get the news that Dodi had died. Of course when I got up in the morning it was all RIP Diana so I was a little suprised that the injuries they reported a few hours earlier was a total fluff.

RIP PRINCESS DIANA
Well after 15 years you would imagine that people could leave it. Seems not!
I can't believe "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter!" has ever been mistaken for butter. Now that is unbelievable.
Yes, one minute you're here and the next minute you're not! :D
That is just rude and uncalled for.
The most annoying thing was that Richard Madely urging the Scottish football team not to play in a game against Belarus in a World Cup Qualifer.
The % of people in the population who actually went totally OTT was actually very very small

Haha!:D:D
People should stop taking the pee. 2 boys were left without a mother regardless whether some liked her or not...no need to be disrespectful
