You never know, it might have been a light hearted jibe at a good friend. Many people do insult friends for a laugh. Deprecating humour? (trying to think of the opposite to self-deprecating humour )
It's just that with Taylor it just makes him sound like a ****!
Phils been finished since 2008, just seems no one has told him!
Like him or not (and tbh I don't really!) the man is a freak of nature to keep coming back at the top of his game for 25 years. He's won everything there is to win multiple times his records will stand forever yet from somewhere he gets the motivation to keep practising when it would be easy to just retire and sit in the sky box talking crap like Rodders and Mardle
It's his obsession with money which keeps him going for sure.
Just finished watching the game on Sky+ ... Disappointed with the result. MvG hasn't brought his mojo with him this time. He looked totally devastated... not seen him like that before. Really felt sorry for him.
Is it me or has MvG been a bit off for the last year? never hits 180s like he used and I've never seen a player hit so many 41s, he would have been destroyed against a early White Gando or Lewis.
Yes he played ok avg 99-100 and does enough, but the spark has gone for a while.

not sure about this past year (he did win the Worlds just 7 months back!), I did however notice this during the World Matchplay, the amount of times he hit 134 was incredible, simply because his first dart was below the T20 bed a lot!
