Joan Chamorro hasn't uploaded any recordings for a while.

This has obviously been recorded by a fan at a club date, as they've only recorded just this of Andrea's solo.
She never fails to impress. There's other videos linked to it which we've seen before.

An independently uploaded video, unlike those by Chamorro, probably not the best performance.

But in this one we actually see Carla play a guitar solo!

If you stay with the video, for those who've never seen Andrea Motis before, in the following previously uploaded video from "Les Golfes" she switches from trumpet to soprano sax.

A roof-top performance of "Teach Me Tonight" by Eva Fernández, with just the accompaniment of José Luis Guart's Rhodes piano, (she plays an alto sax solo in this version), from Barcelona's "Balcony TV."
Quite a long video, but it includes an interview by a presenter.

Gaudi's La Sagrada Familia can be seen in the background, sadly the view, will be spoilt by the high-rise construction going on.

That bottle of beer on the edge seems a bit precarious !

Presumably it's the sponsors product but it could kill someone if it blew off that ledge.......:o

It could but, the glass screen behind it, should save it.

A bit of trivia. Her saxophone breaks down into three pieces, so it can be fitted into a carry-case, the body, neck and mouthpiece. I noticed before she started her solo she casually swung the neck round to the correct position, she obviously hadn't tightened up the small wing nut that secures the neck to the body, but this didn't phase her at all. Or maybe she never bothers, but I've never noticed her doing that before.

Another upload of the trio, Chamorro and the Motis sisters.
"I Wish You Love," in Spanish. With some "scat singing," from Andrea, which doesn't quite come off.

Another rare guitar solo from Carla. It's hard work for any young guitarist in this situation.

Andrea Motis is credited as the author of all fourteen individual tracks of jazz standards uploaded of a whole album of; "The Motos Chamorro Big Band."

Here's one sung by her I hadn't heard before.

    "Old Folks."

the second one......I'm not sure what the song is, sounds like a Louis Armstrong track maybe but I don't recognise it.. But it does feature Joan singing......:o

I agree the sound on all of them wasn't that clever and I thought her playing of "I Wish You Love," wasn't that good. But that is rather a rare occurrence.

Some new uploads by Andrea Motis, two full CDs.

This is one of my favourite songs, I've no end of different versions on CD.
She sings this, with no instrumental solo from her, just a good solo by the pianist. Doesn't start too well, but gets better as she gets into it.

    My Funny Valentine.

These uploads tend to come and go.

    Joan's been uploading again.

    It's Spring in Barcelona too!
A good crowd for an open air performance.

More Eva Fernández, live with her group playing at Club TR3SC,

Three songs videoed I guess, by someone in the audience.

    "Ev'ry Time We Say Goodbye."

Noisy audience and a full minute of "noodling" by the pianist before she starts to sing.
I do find that so unnecessary, but you get a lot of that in jazz.

I think she sang it a bit too slowly, hard to hold the "long tones," Ella's tempo was faster than this. Stil, she coped well and was rewarded with a good round of applause. She looked good in her long dress.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bmXPpLv8uTw

"I've Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For."

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-_Jm0yWKjE4

    "Teach Me Tonight"
This tune is my favourite of hers. A good alto solo from her.

Here's something different. A track from a 2012 album uploaded a few days ago by Andrea Motis.

The lead singer is obviously someone called, Kesia? I guess that's her on the album cover? I'm assuming this was an attempt to promote this singer, but the three seem to take turns singing lead, Andrea Motis I think sings the second verse, either way it's a nice tune and sung well.
    No other information available.

    cheers........that's nice !

I've been watching the full concert which seems to go under the title 'NewCat' and features Andrea with a half way house between the big band and the quintets.......but mostly the professional players

A lot of this is in Spanish/Catalan

    Scott Hamilton must love Barcelonia.
No surprise, as it's a beautiful city and he gets to do what he likes best, play in the local clubs.

Here he is from a few years ago with his own quartet.

I'm not sure if we've had this before.......

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7p5zhfucVC0

it's a documentary film called 'Kids and Music - Sant Andreu Jazz Band'

It's mainly in Spanish/Catalan although some of the interviews with the professional players are in English (well, American !)

A couple of clips which have been uploaded separately -

Terrell Stafford playing with the 'kids' and being interviewed about the project......he can really play that trumpet !

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fRVaWFgx0-s

Another clip which is quite cute.......featuring the little Elsa Armengou playing trumpet with two huge black Americans on either side of her.......

The problem is between the many clips we've linked and others I've downloaded, it's easy to forget, those we've put on here.

But, I can remember Elsa Armengou playing that tune on a different occasion.

yeah, I think we've had clips of her playing it at the outdoor concerts.......

here's an old one that I don't think we've had, it's from 2011 and features the band playing 'Tiger Roll' which people might know as 'cartoon music'......

you can see Carla, Eva, Magali.........and I think Andrea is hidden near the back, Recognise some of the boys too but they never seem to get star billing so I don't know their names.

It's been a while since anything has been uploaded.

Eva Fernandez, performing with her group at a club last week.
Vocal not one of her best. But then it's a live performance.
    She's always a happy soul.

Monterey, ain't in Catalonia, Spain, it's in California, USA, so really doesn't belong on this thread.
