Resurrection on ABC is a scheduled for midseason so looking at past trends it could air as late as early April..
It looks like a very weak imitation in my opinion and will likely be canned after the first season...If it winds up on Sundays at 10 which is really where I see it going, its doomed (GCB, Red Widow, 666 Park Ave, Pan Am all recently occupied that slot and all one season and done).
Can see your logic. It has to have the subtlety for it to be different enough to be 'event TV'. But that does not work on US network TV where an episodic weekly format seems essential.
Les Revenants was a show that built a mystery slowly and by piecing clues together. Cannot see that easily translating.
Not at all sure where it will fit on a UK channel either. Not as a long run series that dilutes the concept.
A five nighter on BBC 1 perhaps? But They Came Back seems to be at too early a stage to know.
At least it would well translate in location - the Pennines, with real life supernatural associations well established, villages, hills, winding dangerous roads, dams and reservoirs like at Longendale.
If they translate literally location wise it can work very well in the UK IMO.

The very first I believe, if 1.7m watched it this week, I'd hope that the same audience would return to see it from the beginning. Perhaps, 1.4-1.6m? Kick-Ass is more popular though, and is less cult ala Scott Pilgrim which I like too (I know a lot of people do not!) I'd say Kick-Ass could go anywhere between 1.2-1.5m! To add, Kick-Ass 2 comes out soon... What better way to refresh your memory?
I'm looking forward to it too. It's a shame David Walliams couldn't host it, but Gabby Logan is a safe pair of hands, and Frank Skinner and Micky Flanagan should be good as team captains. That Puppet Game Show starts 10th August and is seven episodes, whilst I Love My Country is 8 episodes. So both should finish on September 21st. Then it'll be time for Strictly and Atlantis.
These were big hopes for the autumn weren't they? That neither is going to pair up with Strictly, and are being burned off now before the big hitter arrives says it all.
The Muppets looks fun, but it's launching at tea time in high summer. I just don't think a standard LE gameshow featuring celebs but hosted by a muppet instead of a presenter will put many bums on seats, not in high summer. In the depths of winter before SCD maybe.

Yes - Chalk and Bonjour La Classe (Nigel Planer starred; it was pants) are what I'm thinking of. Chalk was pretty good as I recall, thought of itself as a bit Brittas-y perhaps, but not a hit. I vaguely remembered something with Lenny Henry, but you're right, it was a drama - the sitcom was Chef. (Which wasn't that bad, and rated well at first too)
Body of Proof continues to fascinate me. Interesting that Season 2 repeats on 5USA are outrating the new episodes on Alibi. But in a nutshell it's doing good business wherever it is shown:

Had the overnights.tv free trial for a few days now and what's struck me the most is how incredibly poorly so much of Sky1 rates. For a channel with it's position on the Sky EPG, and the big budget it has, it should really be doing better. A few ratings from the last few days...

You only need to look at the line ups to see why. It's a constant diet of rubbish and repeats of rubbish. Plus the odd "landmark" Sky new programming like Mad Dogs or Stella, which nobody bothers to even try because it's on Sky1, the channel nobody bothers to watch.
Really irritates me how the Sky EPG can't be customised to get rid of these pointless channels, or at least re-order them into my preferred order of priority not Sky's, like I can do with Freeview.

As soon as the titles for ITV News roll, viewers flock to BBC1. I am sure some of the 4million watching BBC at 10.15 would probably have watched this had it it not be against it.

With the right promotion, the Simpsons/Family Guy crossover ratings (in a year or so) could deliver some records for BBC3
