I agree.....don't really think he suits lightweight tv stuff to be honest. He seemed uncomfortable as though he didn't really want to be there....Griff Rhys Jones looked a bit bewildered by some of his remarks and on camera.
I don't think he is particularly good on Radio 4 either. He can occasionally be mildly funny but he tries to make a serious news programme into 'his programme'. Some of the long running light items get embarrassing after a time but he still keeps them going.
