I would have liked that better as her current lead single, it's good!
I don't know what a real specialist would say of course, but my ears like it.

I suppose choosing this as a single would have been regressing to doing covers instead of originals... But if she can pull it off live, it would have been quite a "moment".

Whitney and Mariah could do it too. However, they are two of the best singers ever. I think it is quite unusual actually, but contrary to popular belief, a lot of pop singers are actually good singers. Also, Leona arguably does it best.

Mariah's mother was an opera singer and she was the one who trained Mariah so I have no doubt she could do it. Whitney could probably do it too.

Perez Hilton tweeted she needs to sing it live and she replied saying I'll let you know when I do it, so hopefully she is planning on singing it still, so she could still have her moment with it.

agreed - an amazing vocal … the Christmas album is inspired… her vocals equal Mariah in places… but with a British viewpoint ..(nods to our christmas classics such as 'I wish it could be Christmas') …but tis not the Mariah Christmas counterpart 'One More Sleep' that steals the show it is the amazing vocal on 'ave maria' and her songwriting debut track 'your hallelujah'. Leona has more to offer. A rebirth is occurring.

It isn't her songwriting debut track, she has been writing for years, since before X Factor even. She has writing credits on this song by the first winner of The Voice US winner, which proves she isn't just one of those singers who get credits for nothing but show, she actually is heavily involved.

I think Leona's version of 'Ave Maria' is amazing. It's quite possibly some of her best work in terms of transition and difference. It really is like a different Leona, but in a good way, she certainly does have versatility (which some disagree on).

I also think Leona doesn't need to use tricks to "prove" herself. For example, this is the first time we've heard her sing like this ever, she won The X Factor 7 years ago and never resorted to shock twists/turns for an audience. So to sort of edge it in there is quite a wise move. No fuss, no drama.

There's a rumor she will perform it on The X Factor US, I hope so!

I don't think she'll perform it this year, she said in an interview she was asked by a certain show to perform it and she said she would depending on how her voice is, and today she posted this video and she is really sick,
