Didn't he once say that he supports whichever team is playing England in the football. If it's good enough for him, it's good enough for us.

His exact words were "Anyone but England". So I say, "Anyone but Murray".

    Exactly!

So you're saying "Exactly!" when someone says "why expect the Scots to support the English?" Yet your post is bemoaning the fact that some of the English don't support a Scot? Oh and you're Welsh?

And his words were a joke, as has been explained many times, including in an article by the journalist involved, at the start of Wimbledon.

Do Everton fans in Liverpool also support Liverpool FC as they are another local team?

Do Arsenal Fans in London also support Spurs as they are another local team?

So why expect Scotland fans to support England?

Not really good examples to be honest. Football is far too tribal to compare with tennis. When you see his name on the board it is with GBR after it informing us that he is playing for Britain. The fact he is Scottish is only revelent to those who care, most reaonable people don't.

As long as he wins he's British.

If he loses he's a grumpy Scottish bastard.

Oh god. Do learn to read:rolleyes:

That person was referring to the individual football teams issue. Not tennis by which we compete as one nation.

Not that hard to work out is it?

OMG i can't believe some people still post that as a reason to not like him. It shows how little you know about tennis if you still believe that rubbish.

It is like talking to deaf people with their hands over their eyes with that one. The media have told them that they should interpret it that way, and they are toeing the line, keep trying DP, but you'll get nowhere.:D

Oh i remember you. You're the charming individual who can't respond to anyone without a rolling eyes smiley and a "like yeah woteva" attitude. We don't compete as one nation in Tennis other than in the Davis Cup.
