  I dont remember them telling us where they came up with the names. at the judges houses they just had the names !!!

  Belle Amie is apparently the name of a large porn site.

  Dont know about Belle Amie but One Direction was clearly given to them with "New Directions" in mind, maybe to kind of associate in the minds of the teenie viewers?
  
  I definitely believe their name is lifted from Glee for referencing reasons.

  I thought Belle Amie came from when they went to France... you know, Beautiful Friends...
  
  The names of bands have always been awful. I think the best names were : Miss Frank and FYD/JLS. (Hustle? Just no.)
