Hardly cruel, seeing as Helen must have known about this in advance.

It's just extremely sad and pathetic.

^^ Totally agree. They wouldn't chance setting up such an already aggressive hm knowing how it could end.

It is easy done here...there are so many threads/posts it is so easy to duplicate and isn't intentional.

well let them put Jenny in, the 'other' escort, because believe me she is 10 times more vile than Helen.
She will only serve to make Helen look good :D

Yep either that or her removal from the house...or she walks.

I'm all for 2 new HMs however I really think BB have got the selection wrong (if that article is true). We don't need 2 more "controversial" HMs .. I would like 2 easy going, FUN HMs... The house needs comedy, perhaps 2 loud, funny, in your face HMs would be more like it...?

Me too. I'm fed up with all the aggression and nastiness

I think there are 'fun' housemates in there, given a chance. I think they are having fun a lot of the time, we aren't seeing it that's all. I also think they are bored a lot of the time - which is how it is every year, as there is nothing to do for a lot of the time.

It's easy to say send somebody 'fun' in. Most people enjoy having fun, but they aren't performing seals and generally a fun person, as much as anybody else, is going to react to how the people around them are ... unless you want a games organiser to go in and turn it into a children's party :D

I'm really hoping this doesn't happen. While I dislike Helen, I feel that placing her 'arch nemesis' in the house as a means of antagonising her is just needlessly cruel.

It's obviously an attempt to humiliate her in order to satisfy a growing public bloodlust against her. Her pass to the final will inevitably be revoked at some point, which is fair enough. But I think the addition of this new HM would be a step too far.

It's similar to the treatment of Hazel last series. Loads and loads of people felt she was a 'home-wrecker' for flirting with Daley, so BB organised a task where the public could vote online for her to eat loads of unpleasant things. It was pretty disgraceful IMO.

I don't like it when BB does that - appealing to viewers' sense of vengeance and bloodlust. That should only be exercised in evictions, not in tasks or the addition of new HMs designed to humiliate present ones. It also assumes that every single BB viewer thinks the same way, which is patently bollocks. To re-iterate, I don't like Helen as a HM at all. But she is still a human being, and I don't think putting in this new HM (which is tantamount to poking a caged animal with a stick) is beneficial for anyone really.

If they are having so much fun why not show some of it.... via clips if it doesn't fit storyline. Whilst it might be boring in there it has been on for 14 years so they knew that going in. As for 'performing seals' no-one expects that but it is an 'entertainment' show .. and a balance would be nice not just bitching and aggression... which hasn't just been said by fms but guests on bots too ..including Emma.

Oh dear, surely nothing good can come from putting Helen's arch enemy in there, it could possibly get physical if Helen really loses the plot and I for one don't want to watch to women scrapping:(

More likely they'll make up within 2 minutes of arrival and she will just add new lifeblood to the nasty gang.

    .

How about when they sent Jackie in without telling her ex daughter in law Brigette Neilson??? Helen will either rise to the occasion or she will walk.

It's volatile enough in there, this is a VERY bad idea if they go through with it

But just maybe they are not really arch enemy's and they will join up against the others. Helen has already lost Tamara and Pauline, Toya has turned on her and if Ash goes tonight which looks a near certainty now and maybe even Toya with him (which would be good) Helen will have hardly any backing because no doubt Marlon and Winston will soon back off if Ash goes.

I cannot see even BB doing that to Helen because she will totally lose the plot in there. BB would then be taken off air, they could never afford to let Helen lose it completely. She is already so volatile.

I would have liked 2 new hms in at least but bringing 2 in that clearly will have the same personalities as most of those in there is just about the dumbest thing BB has ever done....it's on a par with Helen's pass!! This Jenny is clearly going in to target Helen & will only end up warning her & suddenly Helen will become one of the fav's to win it overnight! As for an American Rapper......enough said!!!

I can't see her getting along with the likes of Chris, Christopher or Matthew.

And hanging around with Toya and co tends to be more of a sober, reserved affair, which I can't imagine being her scene.

I can't see them doing it either, a massive kick off would surely implicate the Rooney family (presumably that subject would be raised?) and that can't be fair on Colleen and her kids?

It's the only way of giving Helen any sort of "story line". Other than this there is nothing down for her and she is just hanging around there until she is first out on the final night.

I agree that it's pretty low television but so is watching people throwing up. Nothing should surprise us sadly.

I'm not happy with this. I hate new housemates...they're very rarely any good. I don't think they're needed this year anyway...there's enough going on in there and changing of relationships/groups etc. 16 people were put in on the launch and that is plenty to last the series.

Normally, I would agree. But these HMs are so awful that new HMs seem the only thing that might turn it into a BB I enjoy; and I think some new HMs have been good.

However, the rumoured new HMs sound like a very poor idea, more likely to make things even worse.

    can't see it .

no way are they putting Jenny in . BB don't want to escalate the situation , Helen has made the place too aggressive already , BB will want to lighten things up for a bit at least .

The only source for this daft idea is the Star which has commercial interests in Channel 5 and Big brother and which publishes rubbish on a daily basis.

    It wont happen. imo.

Does seem a bit odd though that the Power Housemate has not been chosen yet

Jenny to go in tonight with the 'power'? doesn't bear thinking about the carnage that will ensue

I really don't think there will be any benefit in having new housemates. Without live feed we don't get to know the housemates at all. We have no idea of the personalities of some of these housemates. Some of them, like Kimberley, we have hardly seen. What's the point of putting in more. Surely it would be better to let things develop naturally. If Ash or Toya go tonight the house dynamics will be changed hugely. I'd prefer to see how things play out within the groups as they start to lose their friends. Shoving in more when we don't know the ones already there makes to sense. Clearly done to cause drama but we don't need any more of the same kind of drama.

I agree that we don't need any more of the same kind of drama.

However, I don't agree that we have no idea of the personalities. I think we know enough about all of them.

And I have seen enough of these HMs to feel that they will never make this an enjoyable series for me, no matter who is evicted or how much the dynamics change.
    muggins14 wrote: »
Indeed. I would like to see the group diminish too, not just to see how the dynamics change but also to hopefully get more time focused on them as people, see more of who they are and what they are like. At the moment, trying to squeeze 14 housemates into 40 odd minutes, we see nothing - especially with their arguments dominating everything, when really I imagine it's mostly sitting around trying to fill the day.

I am not interested in knowing any more about who these HMs are or what they're like. That became even clearer to me what I got around to watching last night's show. I don't care about those HMs, not even when they're having "fun". Instead, they're still unpleasant viewing.

And last night's BBOTS was so bad, I had to stop watching it. Tonight, they'll have Luke Marsden on the panel.

I don't think anything can revive this series for me except new HMs -- and new ones quite different from any of those we have now.

Yeah I agree with this. I dislike Helen and disliked Hazel but I strongly object to prodding and taunting them to satisfy the viewers.

I remember the voting task, I voted for anyone except Hazel because it annoyed me it was so set up to pick on Hazel.

I'm going to be pretty annoyed if they send in another couple of vicious scumbags to be honest. This Jenny woman sounds delightful!

What we need is for some of the other HM's to get some more air time and to be allowed to be shown in a better light. How on earth can we judge them fairly when they have to put up with all that nastiness in the house. It's no wonder many of them are snapping. Now they want to add more, fantastic>:(

If this girl does go in, the producers will have stooped to a new low. Giving air time to two prostitutes who nearly wrecked the Rooney marriage, I don't give a toss about him but, Colleen does not deserve to have the whole affair blown up again.
All it will do is cause more arguments, screaming and swearing, which we get enough of now and lots more air time for Helen. I really hope this is just a rumour.

Im in the no more housemate camp, this lot are doing enough arguing, give Helen rope and she will hang herself is what Toya said I think, shes doing that, she doesnt need to be goaded as well, she hanging herself nicely on her own
