I always cringe a bit when I see a good actor/celebrity doing adverts. Some of them are OK, if they showcase the skills of the person, most of them just look/sound awkward and desperate for money. Although Stephen Fry says he does quite a lot of adverts because he wants to, and he certainly doesn't need the money.

I didn't get a good look at the advert in question, there seemed to be quite a lot going on that I missed. It even looked a bit DW-referencing?

Most of them reference Sci-Fi, with some specifically referencing Doctor Who

Yes I thought he looked different.

He seems to have lost some weight.

Still looks great though. Hope he makes a re-appearance in the not too distant future.

I wouldn't worry about missing it, they are playing it nearly every advert break and as there's so many of them these days, I'd guess if you watched ITV within the next hour, you're bound to see it!

I think his make up hasn't been done very well, and it makes him look a bit odd - a bit drained.

That sounds even to me like an excuse.

Maybe he is just older and you haven't watched anything with him in for a year or two, so only just noticed?

The lighting on that advert is very harsh, to make it all seem hi-tech and shiny - that probably doesn't help.

He is a new dad afterall and I looked like death when my three children were babies. I think he looks exhausted!

The BBC have demanded that this advert gets pulled as they object strongly to the Doctor Who references!

I have only seen the DW advert once - has it been pulled already?

I did think it was a bit much referencing DW on a commercial channel - and the Lazarus machine reference was so obvious.

I also thought it was cheesy - Tennant checking out his own work, and Branson clutching a Tubular Bells album.*

The other advert with the candles and lotus position is on all the time.

*I suppose it's obvious from this that although I only saw it once I was pretty much glued to the screen while it was on.:o

I think it was supposed to be a TARDIS-like time machine, rather than a rejuvenation machine.

I know! I was just using it as a springboard to cast aspersions on Granny's moral rectitude. But seeing as she has made few, if any, claims to such the egg ends routinely up on my face.

Thanks for posting that - there was a very nice compilation vid on that site, of DT being very funny on various shows, which I just had a happy 15 minutes watching. And he looked absolutely gorgeous!
