What has happened to Philadelphia full fat cream cheese?

Havent bought any for a while and now its got some additive in it which means that its not nice and crumbly, its like a gloopy slop. Doesnt taste of anything either.

Do you buy the full fat one though? All of the light products have stabilisers in them which result in the 'spread' texture, a bit plastic. A cream cheese is just that, a new, fresh cheese, like ricotta. Yes its processed a bit in philly and supermarket equivalents but it should break up a bit like Boursin when spooned or knifed into. Thats what I mean by crumbly, not crumbly like a cheddar.
I would never describe it as ever being "crumbly" - smooth and creamy, yes..
You must be either misremembering or confusing it with another product.
Maybe crumbly is not the word but its not the texture they now have, it doesnt even taste the same.

Thats what full fat Philly used to be like, although all their pictures show a shiny spread, this is not what it used to look like.
This is a block of genuine philly. I assure you it hasn't changed. (Unless they market something specifically to cater to British tastes.)
Now I just watched a telly ad for a new Philadelphia "whipped" (three varieties) and it definitely looks crumbly.
I've been buying Philadelphia for years and as you say, it has never looked like the photos which look more like ricotta.
If you've ever spread it on a digestive, it does kind of look like that a little bit..well at least it used to.
