Probably the most iconic female star ever is going to be played on stage by the 'talent' that is Kerry Katona
This is going to be the best car crash musical production ever.

So, Monroe with a Warrington accent. What could possibly go wrong?
Monroe with a slurry Warrington accent.
The article does say 'The script isn't an ordinary Bio - Drama and Belvedere has taken a new route into the personal history of Marilyn based on little known facts from her life.'
Transcribed as 'It will be nothing like her'.
This must be a scam like Springtime For Hitler in the film The Producers
I fixed the above for you
Think we might need a few ::eek::mad::mad:::eek: aswell.
(Love the thread name OP.)
Very good.
"Writer Pashun, who recently cast Lizzie Cundy in the lead role of WAG! The Musical, said: 'I needed an actor of huge talent, personality and experience - Kerry was at the top of my list."
I'm liking the sound of this Belvedere Pashun bloke. Sounds like he has a very highly developed sense of humour. :D
As soon as I read this article, the same conviction came over me. Katona will never play Marilyn on a public stage.I cannot think of anyone less suited to the role or the work involved. And as for having her debut in front of industry insiders? It would be kinder to throw her to wolves. Actual wolves.
Noooooooooooooooo
Is he in it aswell?
Judging by the dubious casting choices, he'll be played by that fine, critically-acclaimed actor, Danny Dyer.
Kerry obviously isnt dead, but she has dabbled in drugs, and she is also talentless.
Although it always makes me chuckle when people think Mrs Monroe is somehow the stable of class, when she was her day and ages Katie Price. She is venerated for the very thing we mock people for now (only famous because she is pretty, in the most boring of ways)
Monroe at least had sex appeal and an iconic beauty. Katona has neither IMHO.
She didn't walk like a hod carrier and have a voice like nails down a blackboard.
And on that basis I sort of want to see it I am duly ashamed
Marilyn most certainly COULD act, as she proved in Bus Stop, and The Prince and The Showgirl, on which she acted Olivier right off the screen. Even the revered Dame Sybil Thorndike observed, "That girl knows more about screen acting than the rest of us put together." She was also a terrific comedienne, and very funny in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes and How to Marry a Millionaire. She had real star quality, and to compare her to those two dogs, Katona and Price is an insult to her memory. The fact that she is even more famous more than 50 years after her death than when she was a star, proves that she was something very special.
Funniest comment I've read all week. Thank You :D
Well said, Walter. Only a fool could equate Monroe with the vulgar talentless likes of Katona and Price.
Beautifully put.
I really loved her in "Some Like it Hot" aswell.
