BBC Parliament is repeating Election 74 (the February one). This election saw:

The first hung parliament since 1929

The biggest slump in government support since 1945

The lowest Labour vote share since 1935

The biggest third party share since 1929

The birth of the modern three-party system

Thanks. I don't remember it well! But I do remember the Oct 1974 election as that is when it all started for me. All the TV elections are fascinating.

Could the country cope with two elections in 2015? I don't know. We could be in 1974 yet again but I feel that we may be about to see another 1992.

I remember this election very well but had forgotten just how much of an issue Europe was.

Past elections are regularly run on BBC. I like watching them because I can remember most of them. I am always amazed at how "all male" they are. This one took place forty years ago on the 28th February and it was freezing cold.

I love these old programmes, over here the voting was about local issues, the Unionists were about to paralyze the state in protest at the Sunningdale Agreement. Tense times. I did laugh at one of the results, the candidate was referred to as `Mrs`, she didn`t even merit a Christian name! Funny to see the smokers too.

I watched a bit of this, alastier burnett seemed fixated on what powell said in the midlands of england, the fashion seemed horrible for women in 1974, loved the guy saying ''the computer says'' ahh very innocent times in a way.
