the final choice

A friend is looking to buy a 40" LCD for the living room and I have been helping him look at different models..

http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electronics/4-/3062321/Samsung_40_LE40F71BX_1080P_HD_Ready_LCD_TV/Product.html

.. are 2 of the choices, both 1080p and 2xHDMI which if any would be better? or are there other similarly priced makes to look at ?
thanks,

Well to be honest myself I would go for the Sony..! and the only reason i have for saying that is I have dealt with Samsung customer support and it's SHIT..!! They charge you national rate to call them keep you on hold for 15 minutes then tell you that some one will ring you back and never do..! and the only way to email them is via there web site and it's slow and badly formatted..!!

I've no idea what sony customer services is like but it can't be as bad as samsungs..!! I will never buy samsung products again for this reason..!! I would rather have a slightly lower spec peice of kit and know that I can get it serviced than rather wait over 8 weeks for a reply from samsung..!!

BTW the new Tosh 42" LCD is the same spec as the above two but about £300 to £400 cheaper and handles SD fromat well from the reviews that i've read..!
