It was a great announcement but didn't really let us know much more than we already know. The lack of Character Name for Christoph Waltz pretty much confirms he's Blofeld (plus the Spectre Title of the Film too)

I just hope the plot is a little less disjointed than Skyfall, as good as it was, it just lacked cohesion here and there- Still extremely exciting though! :D

SPECTRE: Special Executive for Counter-Intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion.

A good Fleming title. Surely means Blofeld is back?

I hope so too. Skyfall is vastly overrated, I am sad to say.

Apparently he's playing a character called Oberhauser. But yeah, I can't really see that being anything other than a cover for Blofeld. Excited! Don't think much of the car though... and why do they always seem to cast nondescript French women in the Bond Girl role nowadays...?

I fancy someone a bit more atypical and interesting...

Great title. Monica Belluci is lovely, and the great Christoph Waltz is in it. I thought Mendes did a decent job with Skyfall, so I'm excited to see what he does with this.

    2015 is shaping up well...

Great title. But if they don't have the gun barrel opening, right at the start of the film (pre-credits) , I'm walking out!

Hasn't every Bond film had that? It's an iconic part of the films, they'd never remove that.

The gun barrel wasn't at the beginning of Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, or Skyfall. It should be back for Spectre (we hope!).

Got to say, this is the only thing from the re-vitalised franchise I'm still missing.

Yeah. Small point, but in keeping with films of yesteryear and they've pussy-footed long enough over this. Reasonably confident it will appear where it should be this time around, as recall Mendes hinting at this during the Skyfall feedback. Oh, and would also like the briefing by M, before Bond sets off.

No reason to expect it will be. Unfortunately it's just not a part of the formula for the films post 2006.

Sam Mendes mentions in the director's commentary for Skyfall that he wanted to have it at the beginning of the film but couldn't get it to work with the entrance of Bond (the very first shot) into the corridor, turning with the gun towards the camera (out of focus at that point). It was its own gun barrel sequence.

I'd be surprised if it wasn't at the start of Spectre.

**Sighs** I've been a Bond fan since the 60s, but I know when it's time to move on and embrace new ideas in the franchise. This gun barrel debate is so passé...

Love the title. Am blown away by the cast. Can't wait.

Hmm. They could have easily made something work if they wanted to. I agree the opening didn't right for a gun barrel opening. They could have opened with an exterior shot allowing for a gun barrel shot. . I remember watching for the first time I expected it to start right away with the gun barrel and was disappointed when it didn't

I appreciated they did something a little different with Casino Royale when the shooting, melded into the credit sequence and we had a gun barrel that way. And of course Quantum of Solace wrapped up that story so I kinda didn't expect a gun barrel that way and kinda liked that it closed with the gun barrel just as Skyfall did.

After so many years though it just doesn't seem right now to open with a gun barrel. :)

The title is a little meh, but I do like how they hint at Spectre's logo in the film teaser (the cracks form the octopus tentacles).

The villain's care is Reliant Veron.

Must be a low budget Bond this time :)

Agreed. They've just issued a nice teaser poster with it:

    http://www.impawards.com/2015/spectre.html

Coming after Skyfall, another one word title seems a little play-safe, but then it's also a bit audacious calling it SPECTRE, i.e. the sheer head-butt directness of it. Fair play to them.

Good to hear the location roll-out to. I enjoyed the UK-centric Skyfall more than I thought, but the full quota of exotic locales wasn't quite there. I expect SPECTRE's budget will be quite something shooting in all those places. Doubtless it'll make a fortune on release of course, so not to worry.

This announcement has got me really looking forward to Spectre. Its a great cast but is it wrong that I'm most excited to see Dave Baustista as a henchman as that seems a role he was born to play!
