Ram upgrade netbook advice

Hi,
I would like to buy new RAM for my netbook to speed it up. I know it can support up to 2GB. It currently has the stock 1GB module.

That's what CPU-Z says about the RAM installed. As you can see in the screenshot there's a tab "Memory" as well, but there I see DDR3. So, does the netbook have a DDR2 or DDR3 memory?
Can anyone suggest what's the cheapest 2GB RAM module that's compatible?.
I know where to look to buy RAM but I am unsure about the frequency etc, so that's why I would like some help.
I was gonna buy a new laptop on finance, but I decided I'll save up for it instead and in the meantime upgrade the cr@ppy netbook I already have :p (there's not much upgradeable, though). Many thanks in advance :).

Since the SPD has detected the actual stick (it knows its a Samsung and its specs) I think its safe to assume you have DDR2 in that netbook.

Also check this utility from Crucial (a RAM company). It will check your system and advise the best replacement. http://www.crucial.com/uk/systemscanner/

... and be prepared to have to dismantle the unit completely. Every netbook I've RAM upgraded has had the memory modules in ridiculous places. Plenty of tutorials for all sorts on the web, though.

I already opened up the netbook before to replace the HD and the RAM is easily accessible too, so no problem there :P

Just need to be aware if each slot is limited to 1 GB or not, your manual should tell you.
If it is but has a 2GB limit then it means there is a second slot (often under keyboard). Then you need two 1GB sticks to upgrade to 2GB.

I purchased the 2GB RAM module through Crucial, using their system scanner, as suggested by Daedroth.
I hadn't thought of that, but I believe the netbook has only one slot, as CPU-Z told me as well, so it must support a 2GB stick.

If you have W7 or Vista and your system meets the spec, you can increase performance with ReadyBoost: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/ff356869.aspx
