iPad 3 keeps disconnecting from Sky broadband

My son has owned an iPad 3 for about a year and a half now and from day one it keeps disconnecting from the wi-fi if he walks around the house. The Sky broadband router is in the living room and even if he moves from one end of the living room to the other it'll disconnect and he'll have to wait a minute for it to reconnect. >:(

Obviously it's the same situation if he takes the iPad into the kitchen or upstairs yet my wife & I have no problems with our phones or my laptops wi-fi, we could walk around the house all day and they'll stay connected. :)

Any advice greatly received.

    You can try resetting the network settings on the iPad.

    If you laptops run Windows, you can try installing InSSIDer which will show you what other wireless networks are nearby and if they are on the same channel as your own. You might then be able to change the channel your Sky router uses. A quicker way is just to reboot the router (turn it off then on) and see if that helps.
