FIFA 15 - PS3 problems

Hi.
Have had Fifa 15 since launch for Ps3. Recently it has become glitchty when flicking to replays and only playing them one second at a time with two to three second gaps between frames. It's like a huge lag, but this is when playing offline. It also seems to happen when moving from one end of the pitch to the other. The sound also constantly ducks up and down in level.
I've tried cleaning the disc, disconnecting the wifi (even tho we never play online games) disconnecting the EA account and anything else I can think of. Have also run fifa update.
Can anyone help? I'm quietly confident it's not a laser issue as we use it to play DVDs daily and haven't had a single problem.
