The sexiest woman on TV by a country mile.

Well, the most attractive, girl-next-door TV News Presenter, for sure. ;)

I like Kate Garraway, she makes me laugh when she's trying to be concerned about the rising cost of living as if she was on a typical salary and keeping an eye on her spending like 95% of the population.

She must be worth a couple of million.

Didn't she have an on-line business that went bust recently ? There are claims she still owes former employees money.

Celebrity smoking when pregnant mum and ex daybreak presenter is thrown yet another lifeline from ITV as her other business Goodypass.com goes up in smoke losing 20 staff and her own investment.
Now ITV give her another 2 year contract to play second fiddle and stand in reserve presenter to Lorraine 'Scottish' Kelly.

Just how does this teflon telly presenter do it?
And if that wasn't bad enough she's married to a LABOUR spin doctor and friends with Mandy!
    Socialist public pickpocketers

She knows where the bodies are buried; I doubt either she or Kelly will be around in two years' time.

I was looking for a thread like this. :D

I have rarely seen a woman SO obviously mutton dressed as lamb. She looks especially ridiculous today, like she is trying to be a 20 year old hipster.

When and why did dressing "age appropriate" become so undesirable? :(

Glad it's not just me, then! She really did look even more mutton than usual, which shouldn't be possible. What a desperate woman she must be.

Is this the same money-conscious woman who couldn't be bothered to go and pay the fine on her impounded illegally-parked brand new mini, preferring to let them crush it instead?

Marginally better that Kelly but neither of them can stop making those weird noises and spouting inanities. Both seem to want to be 18 again but those days are long gone. Or as Kelly would say " Nooo, long, long gone, long long, long gone (inane giggle)". Beyond irritating!

The "when" bit is easy - about 1 minute after programme producers realised that TV is a visual medium where looks count for more than talent.

The "why" is because those same producers value youth and glamour. Maybe that's because the viewers and more importantly: the critics feel the same (note all the comments here and in other places - so many are commenting on her appearance). So, since the programme makers are trying to compete for eyeballs, they are giving the shallow, age-obsessed viewers what they are asking for.

That's what I was thinking. I prefer my tv presenters to wear figure-hugging clothes so we get to see the curves, not some Notting Hill type garb.

Keep the hair but get rid of Kate .. she is awful !

I have to agree. I dont know what ITV see in her. They need a clear out of that programme, getting rid of some of the presenters and all of the behind the scenes team. ITV should go head to head with BBC and Sky News and give the people a News programme. If people want a magazine type programme, let Channel 4 or 5 or one of the Sky channels do it. However, people in the UK are lucky, they dont have to put up with the drival we get here in Ireland from TV3 with its Ireland AM excuse for a programme. Thankfully 95% plus of the people here in Ireland are able to tune into Sky, BBC or even God forbid ITV's helping in the mornings.

I accidentally caught a bit of Daybreak and it really is no wonder nobody watches it. I saw the bit where they tell you what's coming up next , and absolutely every story was some crappy "celebrity" related tripe, delivered as though it was somehow significant or of interest. Absolute crap.

It seems the only people who can't see it, are the people at ITV who are paid to know all about this stuff. They seem to have identified the real problem as KGs hairstyle, so they try a different age-inappropriate one every week.

I feel sorry for Matt Barbet though - he seems like a good guy, so I hope his career isn't tarnished by his involvement.

Ouch. Is that the norm or is it a hangover from the holiday period?

Couldn't care less how she looks, but Kate Garraway seems to be far and away the thickest woman on telly.

Quite agree Lorraine is a lot more attractive & better presenter too IMO.

It will be interesting to see the viewing figures with Lorraine back this week compared to Garraway last week.

As much as I ain't a fan of either of 'em, and I consider Garraway to be the single most vaccuous woman on TV, comparing ratings between this week and last week would be misleading.

This is really the first full working week of the year. Speaking from experience, a lot of people will take that first week of January off, following the New Year Bank Holiday, and resume work today. And I don't think most kids went back to school till today either, right?

So I'd suspect people's viewing habits will return to normal today. Well, as normal as watching Daybreak can be considered, anyway!

Daybreak's ratings always seem to suffer more than the BBC's during holidays - BBC Breakfast was at 1.3 million last week, Daybreak about 450,000.
