EE: New Character Idea

I think eastenders needs some new characters as a lot of the recent characters have been bad additions to the show, so here's a basic well rounded character I made up, feel free to add your own. :)

Name: Parslay Carter

Age: 28

Occupation: Person

Parslay is a 28 year old italian man who is very young at heart and has adapted to speaking street to fit in with other teenagers, he mostly hangs out with a younger age group (between 16-20 year olds) as he finds them easier to relate to. He wasn't born in italy but he has a strong italian accent as he is obsessed with italian culture, although ironically he hates anything to do with italian good (particularly pasta) and during the london riots, he raided an italian cuisine, got sentenced to 6 years in jail, but he only served 2 months with good behaviour. His birth name was Paul but he later had a legal name change to Parslay.

His father left him at a young age so he hold a strong grudge to his father who has never really made an effort with him. He has 2 younger siblings, of who he cares for very much. Parslay is a cheeky chappy with a good intention and a lot to offer, he is kind but sometimes too wary, which can be considered a family trait for the Carters.

Parslay has a temper problem and is likely to slam doors, and break things when he get's too bothered, he acknowledges this and is usually guilty of his actions afterwards. His other family members are accepting of him regardless. Parslay hopes to find love on the square.

Motto: "Ciao, what's up blad' you cool, si?"

Make him Polish if he's from the East End or Portuguese if he's just moved from South London.

Italian has been done, they brought in a whole family, it didn't work. There are a lot of single Poles in East London and a huge Portuguese speaking community in South London that has never been mentioned in a London based soap before.

There is also a lot of French people in London, I think London is the 4th largest French speaking city, something like that, too lazy to Google.

So keep your nationality options open, Italian has been done, stereotyped to death - the last family had an Italian restaurant - doh. Doesn't stretch the imagination, does it?

Morton 100, are you actually serious about this character 'holding a grudge against his father who left him at a young age'

:yawn::sleep: omg has this not been done a million times already in EE?? Most recently with Michael and Joey:sleep:! It's been done to death:rolleyes:!

IMO though, the show needs to start doing stories with the cast it already has, not introducing more! Oh and don't forget we've got Ava arriving next month, then her son turns up in January, and as you do, he lands a job within 5 minutes and becomes friends with people in the square:yawn:! Wonder if they'll have any original storylines ??

I don't think I could take a character called Parsley very seriously!

Plus I wouldn't imagine there are many italians with the surname Carter.

The character isn't a bad idea, but like others have said, EE need to axe some before a new family/person is added.

    Surely this is a joke?

Not to mention isn't Carter, Shirley's name?

Parslay Carter the Italian (lol) bloke who hates his dad, who will no doubt turn up and we'll see them bicker. He was born here but has an accent due to his obsession (????) with Italian culture....

    Pass.

    Lol :D

I'd like to pitch a new family which kills off all the Mitchells (well, Philth :p) and sells off all of his businesses to the other families. They'd be like the Robin Hoods of the Square  :D. Getting bored of the constant stream of bully boys on the show, so I think we need some good 'uns to balance it out :).

Or they could bring Lassie into it! Any time there is a building on fire in the square she could run in and rescue them. Bring Skippy back into Eastenders too! :D

Sounds like an Alan Partridge pitch! Entertaining read though, particularly "Occupation - Person" :D
