TC; As for the Tub ; A tub is also a wide boat used for novices at rowing . You get used to using the oars without any chance of capsizing. I used one of these at my rowing days at the Nottingham Boat Club, right next to the City Ground . Still open for all and sundry on match days , , and my old mentor still goes there at the age of 80.
