JSA/Dentist Query

Hi

I am on JSA after being made redundant in Dec last year. I finally managed to get registered with an NHS dentist after paying private for 7 years.

I have started treatment and will need 4 fillings. I have had one done but am on a waiting list for the rest.

I am due to start a job on May 4th. Will I need to pay or will it be free seeing as I was on JSA when the treatment started?

Thanks :)

Presuming you're on Income Based JSA and not Contributory Based JSA then you'll be entitled to free care. It's based on your circumstances either when the treatment started or when the charge is made. So you would be entitled under the first option .. when the treatment started.
