AvB is awful. Even when his tracks are (co)produced by BT, they're still shit!
Tiesto's a Lot worse, has totally sold out by following the David Guetta route and making music with US rap artists - something self-respecting tranc artists should NEVER attempt.
trance is my fav genre... much though i love the 60's music, punk, general guitar based music trance is the sound i enjoy mainly because its new...well...to me anyway! lol.. not being a natural dancer, nor clubber, at 55 trance gives me a buzz.
my ringtone is carte blanche! lol.

Wow, not heard a single one of them! I feel ashamed. Lots for me to check out today then!
fair enough, it's nearly 3 years old (and it's far from perfect) but it's the sort of trance i like. keep an eye on it, because i'll be uploading more of my mixes from around that time. i don't have the time to do newer stuff because of work and family commitments (when i did the mixes i was single, without children and without a job!)
To a Trance enthusiast there are 2 scenes one being Mainstream the other underground but then again every genre does i tend to avoid the mainstream part as i find its not the best.
To guys who mentoned AVB , he's become quite a sell out these past 2 years , he's reverted to playing Swedish House Mafia type tracks in his sets , really dont like his direction by doing this.
Also AVB quit producing after 2007 , Benno De Groeij (Rank1) has produced every single track since his Imagine Album which was released in 2008.
not true. BT has produced several of his tracks since 2008
Incorrect Benno is the main producer behind his Production work , BT only made a collaboration on one song with him on his most recent album 'Mirage' but previous album was mostly produced by Benno likewise with 'Imagine'.

so i might have been wrong. but that page also states that there were other producers other than Benno de Goeij, so your statement of "Benno De Groeij (Rank1) has produced every single track since his Imagine Album which was released in 2008" is totally incorrect.
either way, as much as AvB is regarded as a world-class DJ (i've listened to plenty of his mixes, he's not Sasha), he's an appalling musician (if you can use that term. his singles/albums are atrocious)

I've never rated Armin as the Best DJ in my years of being a Electronic music fan , he maybe Popular but he aint the best and i agree he's no Sasha as he holds more innovation and better composing in his music and too he actually 100% produces it.
I wouldn't say Armin is an Appalling musician though because when he actually did produce music by himself he actually had decent productions , but he's resulted to having other Producers to make his Music , what has resulted in the downfall of Production Standards.
.
i've not listened to much trance stuff for ages, got any recommendations. shamed to say i've difted off into electronica.
I used to like tiesto but seems hes not into making proper tracks anymore and producing that awful track with busta rhymes and other artists to cash in.
at lunchtime just had a listen to some old favourites mauro picotto - lizard and komodo, paul van dyk - for an angel and energy 52 - cafe del mar.

I know ive never forgiven tiesto since he released that awful Kaleidoscope album
last tiesto cd i have is the elements of life tour a couple of tracks i liked on that but since nothing stands out from the sean kingston, nelly furtado, busta rhymes cash ins lol.
Hasn't tiesto done a track with underworld which should be decent but it wont be trance.
schiller has done some great tracks like the well known das glockenspeil which is a favourite of mine.

Schiller has some really nice tracks glad you brought him up
The 'Vwoms' started off really slow and got quicker and quicker. It was definitely before 2000. I'd guess around 97 or 98. Think it might have been on a Trance compilation with a silver grey cover.
Markus Schulz did a refreshed version of it not too long ago , the newer version features vocals from Justine Suissa , a name you probably most familiar with if you heard Clear Blue Water from Oceanlab or even Armin's Burned with Desire or even Chicane's - Autumn Tactics
Also there's a Super8 & Tab remix of the Schulz version which is probably one of the last decent things we got out of Super8 and Tab before they went downhill , pity almost all the artists on Anjunabeats have downmarketed , even the fanbase over at the unofficial boards would agree with me on this where their original label style is becoming less and less Trancy
Not sure if anyone else has noticed this though this , even Above & Beyond aint exactly what they used to be , their older tracks always had a stronger feel than their most recent work.
Comments
I don't think he's AWFUL, but he is very overrated. 'Shivers', 'These Silent Hearts' and 'Never Say Never' are all brilliant songs of his.
He certainly isn't in the same league as John O'Callaghan, Ferry Corsten or Tiesto (before he sold out).

I've always found Matt Darey to be a bit downmarket for me, especially in the Noughties.
That's the best way I can think to describe it. It was definitely Trance and from the late 90's. Must have been on some compilation.
Lol, any chance it's Lizard by Mauro Picotto?
Schiller has some really nice tracks glad you brought him up
