Black cats are the hardest to rehome!

Any rescue centre will tell you that black, or black and white cats are the hardest for them to re-home, either for silly reasons of superstition or just that people overlook them in favour of the 'prettier' coat patterns.
A lovely professional photographer with a black and white beauty of his own, volunteered his time and skill to visit www.scratchingpost.co.uk to take some shots of these little beauties and has put together a video for youtube

Please watch it and enjoy, then re-post the link on FB or any other pet forums you may use, so that these lovely cats get a chance of a happy new home.

Ok, so I may be a tad bias.:o:D
Oh no, bias is allowed when such a handsome cat is in question.
The people across the way have three, two blacks and a fluffy black and white. Then a couple of toms who hang around, one is an old fella who the neighbours look after now. There's two black ones out the front as well.
There's loads of them, there's only one other regular ginger, my cats a minority
Lucky you, mine is long haired, and I pick up clumps of the buggers hair on a daily basis.
He's long haired though, so I don't know if that makes a difference
My short haired tabby, I barely notice her hair

He's very handsome.
Isn't he just? He knows it though, the little devil. He gets away with all sorts by pulling a cute face.

I love my Bernard who's black and white. I must admit I re-homed him from a friend who was emigrating and, if left to choose a cat myself, I always go for tabbies.
The rescue centres near me always seem to have a lot of black cats but they have lots of other coloured cats too who wait ages to be re-homed. My 2 rescues (neither are black or black/white) had been in care since they were tiny kittens, they were a year old when I adopted them.
There are lots of black cats in my neighbourhood and they all seem really friendly, sleek and elegant. Many people prefer black cats - perhaps they're just more abundant which is why there are so many in rescues?
I think all black cats are beautiful.
In-laws kitties are both re-homed black and white kitties!
My girl is a calico though.

I'll stop now
You obviously don't have a beige carpet then! I get tufts all over the place. I wouldn't swap my black cat for the prettiest pure bred one though. What's not to love about soft silky fur and huge green eyes? When she goes (hopefully not for a few good years yet) I would love to get a pair of black cats. I would have more now, except mine hates all other cats so it wouldn't be fair.
Everyone's photos are adorable! This is my little black bundle of fluff: http://www.flickr.com/photos/24216542@N03/8142448369/in/photostream
She was abandoned as a kitten and found roaming the countryside with her mother outside my husband's parents' home. I think her mum must have got abandoned with her kittens and Hiss was the last survivor. Unfortunately Hiss's mum went missing a few years ago (think she must have got hit by a car, she just went out one day and never came back). She's a lovely little cat.
He ruled over our household until we got our little tortie (Boo, 3 years old) - she firmly put him in his place, stole his bed, his toys - everything, now they are like brother and sister, partners in crime.
I still find the different personalities and characters that different colour cats have amazing.
